SUMMER 2021 AMTA- MARYLAND NEWSLETTER
Tuesday July, 2021

Hello Maryland AMTA Members,

Happy Summer!

This past year and a half was something no one ever thought would happen. Taking the reins of president during the pandemic was no easy task. Because of the pandemic we halted all in-person continuing education and meetings.

The board misses these face-to-face interactions, and we hope to reconnect in person in 2022. After many executive orders, newsletter updates and confusion Maryland lifted all restrictions on July 1. As a reminder, businesses and local jurisdictions may continue to implement their own restrictions. Thank you to Amelia Mitchell, Board Member and Government Relations Chair who stayed on top of the minute-by-minute updates.

I would like to thank our members for continuing to be engaged. Now that it has quieted down some, we wanted to bring you a Summer Edition Newsletter. This newsletter will discuss 2021 National Convention, looking ahead (2022), and August board meeting invite.

Wishing you a safe and healthy summer!

Take good care,

Dave

2021 NATIONAL CONVENTION - TAMPA
This year, AMTA will hold this national convention in Tampa, Florida, from August 26 - 28, 2021. Learn from high-quality educators, explore the exhibit hall, and hear from this year’s keynote speaker, Michael Phelps. To register, please visit: https://www.amtamassage.org/continuing-education/national-convention/

Going to convention? This year we won’t be having a formal chapter event during convention. However, if you are going, contact our Chapter President, David Madon, to meet up for coffee, breakfast or dinner.

LOOKING AHEAD - 2022
2022 is quickly approaching and now is the time to start looking ahead. Whether you renewed in October 2020, or just renewed, 2022 is a renewal year. We hope to return with an in-person annual meeting and continuing education.

Are you an educator? We would be happy to include our members as continuing education instructors when possible.

We are looking for: NCBTMB approved providers with approved courses.

Contact David at president.amta.maryland@gmail.com with information about you and your courses or ideas for other classes for 2022.
