Staff Applications Now Being Accepted
If you, or someone you know, is looking to make a difference in children’s lives and have an impact on the future generation, we invite you/them to apply to work at Camp Achva!

Camp staff should be outgoing, responsible, and fun individuals, ages 16-60+, with a desire to mentor children.
Pozez JCC's Camp Achva

In 2022, Camp Achva, Northern Virginia’s premier Jewish day camp since 1969, will offer a dynamic camp experience for children in kindergarten through 10th grade. Our theme this summer will be based on Theodore Herzl’s famous quote “Im Tirtzu Ein Zo Agada” “If you will it, it is not a dream.” In 2022, we will be focusing on making dreams a reality.

To ensure the health and safety of campers and staff, Camp will be held primarily outdoors at the sprawling 28 acre wooded campus of Gesher Jewish Day School (4800 Mattie Moore Court) in Fairfax, VA.

Camp Achva will run from June 27–August 5, 2022. Camp families are able to register for all six weeks of the summer, or for two 3-week sessions. Activities will be held primarily outdoors, making use of the school’s expansive ball fields, basketball courts and playground. In addition, fun experiences for Camp Achva campers will include making use of the school’s fire pit, garden, winding nature trails, and outdoor brick oven for baking pita and the like. Large tents will be set-up for campers and staff to enjoy shaded areas for group activities.

The Camp is designed to provide unique, yet traditional, camping experiences for campers while following CDC guidelines and Virginia Department of Health protocols to maximize wellness for all.
