Summer 2022 Internships
My Washington, D.C. office is looking for eager and dedicated college students and recent graduates to serve as summer interns.

Interns play a vital role in assisting my staff and me with daily tasks. In turn, interns can expect to learn about the legislative process and how a congressional office functions while experiencing what it’s like to serve Arkansans.

Job duties include researching legislation for my legislative staff, attending hearings and briefings, answering phones, running errands, answering constituent mail, and assisting in writing newsletters and press releases.

The ideal candidate is passionate about public service, has strong communication and writing skills, and has a strong work ethic.

Interested applicants should send their cover letter and resume to: James.Hodges2@mail.house.gov by Thursday, March 31, 2022
No votes this week. The House will be in session on Monday, February 28, 2022.
This week, I spoke to Greene County Tech's AP Government class about what I do as a Congressman and my committee assignments, and then opened the floor to let students ask questions.
Spring break is around the corner.

Entering the U.S. for Air-travelers Updated Pre-departure Testing Requirements for Air Travelers to the U.S.:

Starting on December 6, air travelers aged two and older, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, are required to show documentation of a negative viral test result taken within one day of the flight’s departure to the United States before boarding. You must show your negative result to the airline before you board your flight. That includes all travelers – U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (LPRs), and foreign nationals.
Shout out to Student Resource Officer, Corporal Jeff Shirley, for going above and beyond for students in the Paragould School District!
Roll Call

A group of 91 Republicans in a letter to the Surface Transportation Board in July raised concerns that the rule would roil a highly competitive marketplace.

“Railroads operate in a highly competitive environment and are not guaranteed a slice of the freight transportation pie,” wrote the Republicans, led by Reps. Sam Graves of Missouri, the ranking member on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee; and Rick Crawford of Arkansas, ranking member on that panel’s Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials. “Now is not the time to inject complexity, inefficiency and uncertainty into the marketplace with new regulation.”
