Resource Sharing Contest
Are you an avid user of Rhode Island PBS LearningMedia? If not, today is a great day to learn about the tens of thousands of free resources available on the site. As you start to plan for the 22-23 school year, join educators across the state for a quick and easy challenge:

  1. Locate a new PBS LearningMedia resource or a favorite that you'll use again in the coming year.
  2. Click "Social Share" on the left side of the page to post the resource on Facebook or Twitter (you can also choose to share on Instagram).
  3. Tag @EdServRIPBS and use the hashtag #RIPBSLM to enter by Saturday, August 13.

3 winners will be chosen at random to receive a Rhode Island PBS Education Services Summer Swag Bag!

Winners will be contacted on Monday, August 15.

Join Our Team of Education Consultants!

Rhode Island PBS Education Services is seeking educators for part-time consulting/curriculum resource writing starting August 2022 through the coming school year. Consultants may be asked to write related support materials for individual student and/or educator use on PBS LearningMedia, pilot and/or review resources, participate in educator events, etc. On all grade levels and in all content areas, active Rhode Island teachers and coaches are encouraged to apply. The Rhode Island PBS Educator & Community Learning Professional Development Series

Earn up to 15 professional development hours, approved by the Center for Early Learning Professionals, by taking part in the Rhode Island PBS Educator & Community Learning Professional Development series. Designed for educators of children ages 3-8, the goal of each of the five, three-hour sessions is to empower educators with the tools, skills, and confidence to bring media-rich, play-based, and learner-centered experiences into their own environments and communities. Educators will leave each session with new digital resources from PBS KIDS and an action plan for how they will put their learning into practice.

Media Literacy Educator Certification Cohort

Join us for a free monthly workshop designed to help facilitate educators interested in completing the PBS Media Literacy Educator Certification. This professional learning opportunity is a great way for teachers, librarians, and coaches to showcase and validate their expertise in media literacy! Participants qualify for RIDE-approved PLUs, earn digital badges for micro-credential completion, and earn fantastic prizes along the way!

Space is limited! Registration will close when all spots are claimed.
Rhode Island PBS Education Services is a RIDE: Educator Course Network and Center for Early Learning Professionals approved provider of PK-12 professional development with options available in both English and Spanish. In addition to providing opportunities for PD credit hours, we also supply the necessary materials and resources for future success in your educational endeavors.

Local Connections
CCRI Adult Education is hiring two facilitators to teach ABE Bridge Classes
The Bridge and RI-BEST programs are hiring for full and part-time positions starting in August. They are looking for diverse applicants with strong communication skills, a dedication to education, and an interest in programs that strengthen the community- no K-12 certification is necessary. Positions are open for integrated skills and education programs in “Bilingual Early Childhood Education” (must speak Spanish) and “C.N.A Plus” (healthcare career pathway).

FedCap Tour of Rhode Island PBS
Rhode Island PBS was pleased to host a group of 12 students and their teachers from the Center for Innovation and Systems Improvement of the Fedcap Group. FedCap provides year-round education and workforce development opportunities for high school and college students with disabilities, including field trips to workplaces. The visit included a station tour led by our Education Services Department with special focus on the range of professional roles at the station, and a Q&A session with our production staff.

PBS KIDS offers a FREE collection of flexible courses to help inspire PreK-2nd grade teachers and provide classroom support. This experience blends engaging, interactive, personalized professional development opportunities. PBS KIDS also offers learning paths that lead to a certificate of completion.
