Hello

It is my 13th year to announce the summer season! In 13 years, I’ve been fortunate to have many loyal customers and see my small food share company bloom into 3 different entities, all focused on providing the best tasting and healthiest foods, all with a local twist.

Last year in writing my intro, I reflected on the challenges COVID had presented. While it seemed like a whole new world, those challenges helped us hone in on what we did best - deliver food.

Then, when one didn't think the world could get any more unfamiliar, 2021 came and went. Americans - and the world - witnessed an incredible economic comeback, memes in stock-trading, and the proliferation of cryptos and NFTs, of which I'm still trying to understand.

Just last week I was talking about this with my friend Parker Bosley about the billions of dollars spent on digital art, produced by bits of digital code and distributed through what they call a blockchain across thousands of computer networks. If I try to explain it further, or ascertain it's value, I just begin to sound like some old dinosaur. Parker and I laughed, and then he worked in an old French proverb, "Autour de la table, nous pouvons guerir le monde." It translates to "Around the table, we can repair the world."

Parker's statement reminded me that these things will come and go, but food will remain. We must only hope that we can celebrate life with food, and that it's our vehicle for healing our own bodies, souls, and the world. I am thankful for the last 13 years and the prosperity it has brought my body - the friends, the knowledge, the adventure, the flavors, and my health, to name a few. I'm excited about this 13th season and the good work we can do through good food.

Summer season starts on June 1st and runs through October 29 -- that's 22 weeks of local foods!

Sincerely,
Trevor Clatterbuck

GETTING READY FOR SUMMER
BEGINS IN THE WINTER
Early commitment is important in a CSA model because farmers depend on knowing that there is a market for their specialty crops, meats, and farm made goods. There isn't a good secondary market for unloading excess organic bok choy, rainbow carrots, or even potatoes at a price that breaks even to cover the cost to harvest.

And, if you are a livestock farmer and watching any of the commodity reports for the price of beef, pork, and chicken, it's unrealistic to even think of making a living on those commodities. The CSA model, and your commitment, gives the farmers the confidence that they will be rewarded for all the extra work that goes into producing a healthy, high quality product such as grassfed beef, pasture raised heritage pork & chicken, the thousands of seedlings that will be planted in their produce plans.
The farmer is hoping the ground stays frozen so he can spread manure and compost on the fields; for a day with firm ground and no snow to frost seed clover and grasses to replenish his pasture this summer. He will be cleaning and repairing equipment, probably jumping some old tractor that refuses to crank in the cold, and busily waiting for the sun and warmer days so he can plow the fields and prepare raised beds for the produce.
EARLY BIRD PROMO
Sign up & pay in full by March 26th for the Early Bird Price!

Get the best rate of the season by committing early and paying in full. All sizes and share types are available with Early Bird Rates (pricing below). Early Bird promo rates are for the full upfront payment options only.

We know a lot of you like the check/cash discount and we suggest you mail in your check as soon as possible. The mail is seems to be arriving at a normal rate, however those checks sent to us directly from your bank still take over a week (or more) to get to us. You can also visit one of our Winter Stops to drop off payment too -- there are 3 opportunities to do so.

Another option -- come to one of our Winter Locations to drop off payment. Most of the stops are slowest at the end of the time frame, and there are 3 chances between now and the deadline to drop off payment (February 23 - 26, March 9-12 & March 23-26). Just let the greeter know it's for the upcoming summer season. They'll bring it back to the office and we'll enter the payment into your account. You can find the list of locations + times HERE.

If you would like to pay by credit card, just add the subscription to your account and the payment will automatically process on March 26. There is a 3% processing fee (prices listed below are cash/check prices).

Checks can be mailed to:

SMALL SHARE
SMALL: 7-10 items per week. Available as Omnivore (left), Vegetarian (right) and Vegan (right).
  • This is our most popular size -- it's great for individuals, couples and families. Some families like this as a base package and shop a la carte for complimentary items for any additional groceries they need throughout the week.
  • First time Summer Share member? Start here! You can always add on additional items from the online shop or upgrade to the large size for the remainder of the season if you find you are in need of more each week.
  • Omnivore bag will include one pasture raised meat item per week most weeks (if the produce starts coming on heavy mid-summer, there may be a few weeks where the bags do not include a meat.)
  • Omnivore shares will include a variety of meat products -- all pasture raised on organic pastures, non-gmo feed as needed and 100% grassfed for the beef. You will receive a variety of chicken, pork and beef products throughout the season. If you do not eat all meat types, please select the vegetarian bag (we are unfortunately unable to make substitutes for meat. Extra meat is always available in the online shop).
  • Vegetarian & Vegan bags will include additional produce, fruit and/or value added items in place of the meat item in the omnivore bag
  • Many customers choose the vegetarian share and choose to purchase extra meat a la carte as needed so they can load up on the bounty of fresh, in-season produce. Once you have an active subscription, you will have access to the online shop where you can hand select extra grocery items.
  • Full Upfront or Weekly Payment Plan Option
LARGE SHARE
LARGE: 10-15 items per week, available in Omnivore (left) or Vegetarian (right).
  • The Small base package + a variety of extra veggies, fruits & value added items
  • This share is great for families that cook often at home, and even the experienced individual or couple that makes many meals at home, along with some dabbling in preserving.
  • Omnivore bag will include one to two pasture raised meat item per week most weeks (if the produce starts coming on heavy mid-summer, there may be a few weeks where the bags do not include a meat.)
  • Vegetarian bags will include additional produce, fruit and/or value added items in place of the meat item in the omnivore bag

  • Full Upfront or Weekly Payment Plan Option
MINI SHARE
MINI: 4-5 produce items + $200 FFM Store Credits
