Donate Online
When you give to your Y, you are funding life-changing programs that help thousands of children, adults and families right here in our community to learn, grow and thrive. In addition to childcare, the Corona-Norco Family YMCA hosts a wide variety of activities and programs: Music, Sports, Camp, Aquatics, Youth & Government, Adventure Guides, Family Activities & Classes, Vaccine Clinics, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Classes, and more. Staff from The Y consistently participate in continuing education, as well as play an active part in supporting community activities and fellow non-profit organizations.
Donations are the key in keeping registration costs low for participating families. Thank you for your continued support of the Corona-Norco Family YMCA. We couldn't do it without you!

Volunteer Online
Social Responsibility is one of the three focus areas of the YMCA. It is through the generosity of volunteers that the YMCA is able to give back to your community.
Corona-Norco Family YMCA is a cause for strengthening communities, committed every day to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in supporting meaningful change right in your own neighborhood. Each of our volunteers helps deliver the benefits of good health, strong connections, greater self-confidence and a sense of security to all who seek it.
Everyone has something to give – whether it’s time, wisdom, talent, financial support or caring! Please consider becoming a Y volunteer.
Benefits of Being a Volunteer
In addition to feeling great about your commitment and efforts, volunteers have the opportunity to:
- Experience personal growth
- Give back to their community
- Expand knowledge and skills
- Fulfill community service requirements for school credit
- Develop new relationships
- Gain community service experience
- Learn, grow and HAVE FUN!
Fundraising Volunteers
The Y never turns anyone away due to inability to pay, and as a result we have several fundraisers each year that helps to subsidize programming, childcare, and memberships for those who need assistance. Without the help of our dedicated fundraising volunteers, we would struggle to assist as many individuals and families as we do.
Administrative Volunteers
These are people who answer phones, file, make copies, organize the office tasks.
Program Volunteers
People who have direct contact with members who deliver programs and services such as Youth Sports, Teen Programs, and Special Events.
If you or someone you love is looking for volunteer opportunities, please call us at 951-736-1415, or email a completed Volunteer Application to ldrengson@ymcacornor.org
We look forward to working with you!!

Aquatics
Our Aquatics Program kicked off at Auburndale Community Center Pool (1045 Auburndale Street in Corona) on May 2nd, 2022. We had 76 participants for the first session. We have grown to over 300 participants in July and have served approximately 525 participants to-date. We provide lessons for anyone ages 6 months to adult, and for any level of swimming ability from beginners to those ready for competitive swim teams. Lessons will continue year-round. Our August session starts on August 8th (sold out), and our September session will start on September 6th
We have a waitlist available for our August lessons and registration for September will open at 10am on August 22nd.
We offer swim lessons for every age and stage. Y Swim Lesson curriculum is focused on a skill-based progression that builds confidence and supports swimming skills. There are three phases, beginning with Swim Starters, then Swim Basics and Swim Strokes. Each phase is broken into specific stages that are designed specifically for that age group on a cognitive and social ability.
The Y is America’s swim instructor, not because we teach technical skills, but because we realize that swimming and water safety programs provide an opportunity to teach much more.

We wrapped up nine full weeks of summer day camp last week. Campers enjoyed crafting, playing games, learning team-building skills, and every week we took a field trip, went swimming, and went to the park. Judging from the pictures, some life-long friendships were created. Mark your calendars for camp registration in April of 2023, because camp enrollment was completely full all nine weeks!

Employee Spotlight - Mattie Cramer
|
|
I am a widow, and a mother to 3 beautiful children and a grandmother to 7 wonderful grandchildren. I recently moved back to Southern California from the Bay Area. I enjoy walking along the beach at sunset, relaxing to music, and hiking for personal strength and endurance.
I have been working in Early Childhood Education for 25 years and have been in youth leadership programs with my church for 10+ years. Working with children and youth has been my life’s passion. To me, caring for and educating young children is one of the most important jobs any one person can possess. As a childcare professional, it is my hope to provide an environment for each child to reach age-appropriate milestones, explore the world around them, and develop the skills they need to ensure development and desire for learning for years to come.

Reviving the Jurupa Garden Boxes
We are so fortunate to have had an amazing volunteer squad come to the Jurupa site from Healthy Jurupa Valley. Healthy Jurupa Valley (HJV) is part of a national Healthy Cities movement to improve the health and quality of life of all the Jurupa Valley residents. Healthy Jurupa Valley was formally established in December of 2012. Their mission is to inspire residents to ignite change, bringing greater health, safety, and quality of life to everyone in the city.
The Gardens and Markets Team from Healthy Jurupa Valley is part of a collaborative effort of the City of Jurupa Valley and HJV backbone agency Reach Out. They came out to our site to revive our garden boxes and did so beautifully! We have planted carrots, cucumbers, strawberries, and sweet peppers. Stay tuned for our harvesting progress. Thank you, Healthy Jurupa!

Health Benefits of the Great Outdoors
|
"The physiological response to being outside in nature is real, and it's measurable," said Michelle Kondo, a research social scientist with the USDA Forest Service's Northern Research Station. "There are many physical and psychological benefits of nature that scientists have observed, which can better help us understand how nature supports wellness in the body, mind and community."

Celebrating Wellness at Lincoln Site
All staff and kids received a Health & Wellness t-shirt to encourage outdoor play on Wellness Wednesday. We celebrated Wellness Wednesday with outdoor activities like jumping rope, playing games like Ring Toss, and enjoying each other's company.
|
|
|
We also hosted an Open House event at the Lincoln site. This gave our visiting families an opportunity to see firsthand the hard work, creativity, and fun the students enjoy on a daily basis. Staff was available to offer information about lessons, activities, and answer questions.

Getting Our Steps In
We're on the move at City Park! Children and staff are getting their laps in to keep their bodies moving to stay healthy. Everyone enjoys the outdoor time together. And a little friendly competition sometimes takes place. All in good fun!
|
|
River Road Infants and toddlers experimented with combining different watercolors to create new colors. They worked with sorting shapes, checking out books in the in-house library, and "camping" indoors. It's fun to help their imaginations GROW!
|
|
Thank you for your continued support of the Corona-Norco Family YMCA. Our children and families are thriving in our many programs, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to explore adding more! Stay tuned for the progress we're making in reaching more families and enriching more lives. We are here for YOU!
