BREWSTER DAY CAMP |July 11, 2022 | Vol. 42 | Issue 12

O R I G I N A L I T Y
Greetings Brewster Day Camp friends and family!

We had a glorious first week of camp - the sun was shining, the air was warm and the breeze was inviting! Campers enjoyed four days of activities with old and new friends, and we ended the week with a BDC birthday celebration, including cake for morning snack!

This week is Creative Arts Week. Our Friday special event will include stations for campers to experience art and express their ORIGINALITY. In addition, we will welcome a handful of local artists to our campus, who will showcase their talents for the BDC community. As we move through this week, we encourage campers and family members to think about the importance of ORIGINALITY and the balance between the traits that make you unique and those you share with others. How does ORIGINALITY create a sense of belonging?

A few BDC reminders:
**Have you seen our beautiful new Safe Walking Path? Please remember to use this walkway when entering or exiting the lower parking lot. Drop off and pick up times are BUSY and family safety is always a top priority at BDC!
**Speaking of pick up...please remember that pick up time is 4:15-5:00 pm. From 4:00-4:15, campers are finishing the day with snack and closing assemblies. If you are picking up early (before 4:15) please call (508) 896-6555 or leave a Family Memo at the BDC Office in the morning at drop off.
**Our dedicated group of Camper Leaders are popping corn during pick up time at 4:15-5:00. Purchase a BDC Pop Corn Token for $1 at the camp office to exchange for one bag of popcorn and then enjoy your popcorn outside the camp gate!

We look forward to another week of sharing with you abundant sunshine, creativity and of course...Courage, Hope, Good Spirit and Peace!

Sincerely,

WEEK TWO AT A GLANCE
-COURAGE-
Last Friday, The Noodles v. The Bubbles, faced off in the pool during Mariners Hill Camp's first ever "full-court" game of Water Polo!
These 1st and 2nd graders showed courage and ORIGINALITY as they navigated the pool while working together to score goals for their teams.
-HOPE-
Camper Leaders showed off their ORIGINALITY at Crosby Beach by building a tree out of drift wood.
BDC's Camper Leader Program for rising 9th and 10th graders offers a full camp experience enriched with a leadership component and an introduction to working in the field of education.
-GOOD SPIRIT-
Have you met our AMAZING Aquatics Staff?
Brewster Day Camp offers American Red Cross swim lessons in our eco-friendly pool and a Boating And Sailing Experience (BASE) on Cliff Pond in Nickerson State Park.

-WE CAN & WE WILL-
LOOKING AHEAD: Friday of Week #3, Brewster Day Camp celebrates Green and White Day! Campers show their BDC spirit and apply different skill sets to morning activities based on teamwork, brain engagement and fun! Check the Hill Boards or Camp Office for which tent groups are on the Green Team and which are on The White Team. On Friday, be sure to wear your team color with ORIGINALITY!!!
