Summer 2023 Quarterly Bulletin

President's Message

2023-2024

Ray Render

I wanted to share some of my hopes and vision for the upcoming year at Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary with you. As I’ve mentioned before we’re blessed to be able to write checks and help organizations around Mt. Juliet and Wilson county but my hope is we’ll actually roll up our sleeves and serve our community with our time and presence. I want our club to be able to look back a year from now and say look at what we’ve done for our community (both physically and financially). I want us to be able to find and participate in some kind of service activity each month or so. We just helped the Mt. Juliet Parks and Recreation with the first annual Ray Daniel Cruise In at Charlie Daniels Park. About 10 of our club members helped register and park cars for the cruise in that Saturday afternoon.

Another thing I want us to do a better job at is getting to know our fellow club members better. I’m as guilty as anyone about always sitting and chatting with the same folks each week. I want to encourage you to move around and get to know others at the club. In order to facilitate this we’ve already started our weekly interviews which is a fun and non-threatening way to get to know our some of our fellow club members. I also plan on scheduling some outings where we can simply show up at a local watering hole and have some food and beverage simply to mingle and get to know one another better. We’ll also be having a family picnic at Charlie Daniels Park on Saturday, October 7th so put that day on your calendars now. We have Pavilion #2 (The Mt. Juliet Rotary Pavilion) from 8 am to 4 pm that day so we’ll be planning a lunch outing that Saturday.

Thanks for all you do for Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary and I look forward to a great year ahead. If I can do anything for you please feel free to reach out at [email protected] or 615-390-2126 (cell). Remember to put Service Above Self everyday.

Installation Dinner

Our Breakfast Rotary Club's Officer Installation Dinner in June was a great evening with our friends and family to recognize the hard work of so many within our club . Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the dinner with us at Victory Baptist Church.

On behalf of Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club, we extend a sincere Thank You to former President John Cheney. His leadership, perseverance, and testimony set an example for our entire club to model ourselves after. We are undoubtedly a better club today thanks to your service as President of our Club.

We look forward to former President John Cheney taking over as the new Assistant District Governor! Former Assistant District Governor Teresa Musice was happy to hand it off to John at our Installation Dinner.

John Cheney presented the 2022-2023 Board of Directors with a commemorative gift. In attendance were Dr. John Kirby, Rob Porter, Treasurer Melissa Stockwell, President John Cheney, Secretary Bob DiSalvo, President-Elect Ray Render. Absent were Scott McCabe, Dr. David Clariday and Kevin Sanders. Our officers represent service above self to the fullest.

New Club President, Ray Render was sworn into office. Please join us in congratulating him on this new honor and we cannot wait to follow your leadership with our club.

We welcomed our new Board of Directors, Bill Grady and Dr. Omaràn Lee! And also President-Elect Courtney Wheeler.

Bob DiSalvo was named Mt. Juliet Breakfast Club Rotarian of the Year. A well-deserved honor. Thank you, Bob, for your dedicated service to the Club!
