When I first started at the Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County six years ago, becoming a professional fundraiser wasn't even on my radar. Coming from a background of marine biology, science curriculum development and administrative duties, fundraising was a foreign concept of which I knew nothing about. AFP Global Member Dues Increase


The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is implementing a $50 membership dues increase for Professional and Associate members, effective August 4, 2025. Of this increase, 50% ($25) will go directly back to chapters, projected to generate a total of $375,000 in additional revenue after the first full year. This adjustment is necessary to support AFP’s long-term financial sustainability and to continue enhancing member benefits, such as expanded webinars, scholarships, discounts, and exclusive content. Members can lock in current rates by purchasing 1, 2, 3, or 5-year memberships before the increase takes effect. Read the FAQ for more details and added benefits coming soon.
