The goal of UCC’s Community and Family Empowerment Program is to address the needs of the youth and families involved in the Juvenile Justice System in Essex County by providing an increased level of family engagement and community support while decreasing the recidivism rate in Essex County Juvenile Justice System.

A Huge Thank You !

To all those who donate items to be distributed to those in need. The outpouring of donations is a powerful testament to the heart of community. UCC is able to provide an abundance of resources to individuals in need thanks to community donations, the UCC Board of Directors and the support of local agencies.

UCC will continue to giveaway the items donated to individuals and families in need.

Under New Jersey's eviction moratorium, landlords can still jump-start the eviction process and be ready to kick out non-paying tenants the day the moratorium ends. Although Gov. Murphy lifted the public health emergency on June 4, 2021, the moratorium on evictions and utility shutoffs are effective until December 31, 2021. As a tenant or home owner you can begin preparing for this process.

  • Many homes built before 1978 have lead-based paint. Lead from paint chips and dust can pose serious health hazards.
  • Sellers must disclose known information on lead-based paint or lead-based paint hazards before selling a house.
  • Real estate sales contracts must include a specific warning statement about lead-based paint. Buyers have up to 10 days to check for lead.
