We recently received a huge re-stock of the Cambria Private Label yarns!
There are so many reasons why I love these yarns. One of the reasons is that the production process focuses on sustainability!
The premium Merino fibers are sourced through the international fiber market and custom spun in Europe by experienced spinning mills known for their exceptional quality and consistency. The yarn is mechanically superwashed rather than chemically superwashed. The process uses electricity and air to remove the scales of the fiber so they do not shrink or felt in a washing machine versus the traditional method of using chlorine.
As a result, every yarn is OEKO-TEX® certified, meaning they have been tested for harmful substances and meet strict international safety standards for textile products.
Then, the yarn is hand-dyed on demand for Ball & Skein in Montreal using an eco-conscious dyeing process that uses 80% less water and energy than traditional dyeing methods.
The result is Merino yarns with exceptional softness, resilience, and stitch definition, making them a favorite for sweaters, shawls, socks, and accessories.
