Parenting Moments
presented by Healthier Urban Families at Wayne State University
July 2021
Welcome to the month of July! It’s officially summer and your child's virtual and in-person school has ended, and summer vacation has started. Why are the kids already saying that they are bored, have no one to play with and nothing to do? Well, this month’s issue is filled with ideas to fill your summer with safe family fun. The resource page reminds us of what precautions should be taken if you have not received the Covid 19 vaccine. There is also information on getting children vaccinated. If you are looking forward to fireworks, please see the listing of public firework displays and also the firework safety guide if you are planning on having them at home. Now that the Covid restrictions have been lifted and the state of Michigan is open to full capacity as of June 22nd,  let’s be smart, informed and have fun!

COVID-19 vaccines are designed to help our bodies develop immunity to the virus that causes COVID-19, so that our body is ready to fight the virus if exposed. If you get COVID-19, you are at risk of giving it to loved ones who may get very sick. The vaccine will help protect you and others around you, like friends and family. You cannot get COVID-19 from the vaccine. Covid-19 Vaccines are free.
Take good care. We'll be back soon with more parenting moments.
