Empowering families to advocate for themselves so that children with special educational needs can reach their full potential in education and life - through support, training, and education.
Summer Break

For most students in Missouri, summer break has begun. While summer break can be a time of relaxation and regrouping, it can also be stressful. Changing schedules and routines can be challenging, especially for kids that have disabilities, not to mention their caregivers.

Some children with disabilities are eligible for Extended School Year in the summer.  If you have questions about Extended School Year, also known as ESY, be sure to  review MPACT's fact sheet.  You can find it here:  Extended School Year Fact Sheet

Summertime tips

Does your child have sensory issues and do you worry about how sensory issues may affect your break?  Read about tips to tackle summer sensory issues here:  Summertime Challenges for Kids with Sensory Issues

MPACT Summer Opportunities

Summertime can be a time to evaluate what your child's needs are in the educational setting.  MPACT is open all summer long and is here to help you with your questions and concerns.

It also can be a time to learn.  And, if you are interested in giving back, now is your time to consider being an MPACT Mentor!  You can find more information here:  MPACT Mentor Information.  We also have a full training schedule, so be sure to catch up on your learning too!

MPACT is only a phone call or email away if you need assistance! Contact us today at 800.743-7634 or by completing a website submission here.
