It's that time of year again! Our 2022 Summer Camp offerings are up on our website. Check out all the fun we have in store for this summer!
Registration for members begins February 15 at 9:00 am. Non-member registration opens March 1 at 9:00 am. Please be sure to check that your current membership has not expired.
You must be a Family-level member or above to receive the member discount. Class sizes are limited - consider becoming a member so you don't miss out!

Sunday, March 6, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Enjoy a brisk winter afternoon learning the steps involved in turning tree sap into delicious maple syrup. The whole family will enjoy spending the day outdoors, hiking on our trails, and partaking in our Maple Sugaring Challenge. Also enjoy some hot chocolate, maple vendors, and more. It’s going to be a sweet day!
We will have staggered entry times at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Please be sure you register for the correct time slot, as changing will be based on availability.
Member registration begins Monday, January 31 at 9:00 am. Non-member registration begins Monday, February 7 at 9:00 am.

Are you curious about the identities of some of your favorite trees at the Arboretum? Would you like to learn some simple strategies for identifying your most admired trees here and at home? Join our Curatorial Director of Horticulture John Beirne for a special walkabout through the Arboretum grounds and become acquainted with many of our notable and beautiful specimen and woodland trees. John will introduce important aspects of plant taxonomy and familiarize participants with the correct protocols to properly identify trees growing at the Arboretum and the local area.

As it is easy to attract up to 32 different species of native birds to a backyard, bird feeding will provide hours of entertainment for everyone in the family. Not only will you learn how to use bird food, feeders, water and shelter to attract the widest variety of birds, but you will learn to identify the common and not so common birds that may visit your feeder.

Louis Bauer: Nature into Art, The Gardens of Wave Hill

As we launch our Notable Garden Speaker series for 2022, the Arboretum is pleased to welcome the recently retired Director of Horticulture of Wave Hill, Louis Bauer.
Join us for an evening with Louis Bauer as he regales us with stories drawn from his double tenures and ultimately at the horticultural helm of this world-renowned public garden. We’re certain that his presentation will inspire a visit to Wave Hill and inspire your own garden! Light refreshments will be served onsite.

Welcome to the Wisner House Coffee Club! Join us for 5 upcoming coffee workshops featuring brewing, sensory and roasting skills, as well as fascinating information about green coffee and bean origins. You’ll have fun, meet other coffee fans, and learn a lot. Register for one or all! Each workshop is independent of the others.
Our first workshop is Taste Sensation. We’ll explore the science of taste and learn how to spot famous coffee notes – like chocolate, fruit, and nuts. You’ll get practical experience making a French Press the right way and find out why lovers of coffee praise this brewing method.

Thank you to everyone who came to pick up Valentine materials yesterday at our Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. If you weren't able to come by to pick up supplies but would still like to make a valentine for essential workers in Summit, please feel free to make them with your own materials at home. Return all cards to the Arboretum any time before February 10 to the container outside the Stackhouse Education Center. Thank you!

The Wisner House Gallery re-opens this February with our latest show, NATURE: In and Out of Focus featuring an exhibition celebrating nature in fine detail and in the abstract. Bright bold colors will provide a warm escape in the gallery during winter months featuring works by artists Leonard McDonald and Tracey Luckner.
All art is for sale, and the artists will generously donate 30% of all purchases to Reeves-Reed Arboretum. For more about the exhibit click here.

Join our horticulture staff working outdoors in the spring, fall, summer and now winter, to maintain and enhance the beauty of our gardens and grounds. Weather permitting and keeping in mind current COVID guidelines, join the Horticulture Department outdoors or in the greenhouse. Registration is required in case of cancellations. Tasks may include greenhouse maintenance, cutting down last year's perennials in the daffodil bowl, snow removal, as well as removing weather-related damage.
