Ellington's Emerging Leaders Program

Brand New Leadership Program Accepting Applications Now!



This program is a one-week, hands-on leadership experience designed for motivated students entering 9th or 10th grade who want to make a difference. This program features a selective application process for our program that blends leadership development, team-building activities, guest speakers, volunteer opportunities, and exciting trips. Half Day Spring Break Soccer Camp

Keep Playing Even When School's Out


Keep your skills sharp by playing during spring break! This high-energy indoor camp, running April 13–17 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, is designed to keep players active through a mix of technical skill-building and small-sided games. For $140, athletes will focus on footwork, ball control, and teamwork in a fun, competitive environment. It’s the perfect way to burn off some energy and sharpen your game before the outdoor season begins. Participants should come prepared with indoor athletic shoes, shin guards, and a labeled water bottle and snack for each session.

Futsal Street Soccer Pre-Season Clinic

Popular Pre-Season Clinics Return!

Get a head start on the spring season! Held at the Crystal Lake Elementary School Gymnasium, this four-week clinic runs every Thursday from March 12 through April 2. Designed for ages 7–12, the program focuses on touches, agility, and passing accuracy. For a registration fee of $100, players will get maximum time with the ball to build confidence and fitness before hitting the field for their first team practice. This is an ideal bridge for players transitioning from winter sports back into soccer-specific movements. Whether you are a returning player or new to the game, these sessions provide the training needed to hit the ground running.

Future Knight's Basketball Clinics

Join one of the best local youth basketball clinics in the area!


Join us this spring for our Basketball Clinics at EMS on Sundays (4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10), led by the current EHS coaches and players from one of the top basketball programs in the state. Open to K-8th grade this clinic focuses on building strong fundamentals, and confidence in a positive environment. Participants will receive high-level instruction from experienced coaches and accomplished student-athletes who understand what it takes to succeed. This clinic emphasizes skill development, effort, and a love for the game. The cost is $100 per participant.

Spring Youth Track is Back

Popular Youth Track & Field Program is Open Now!


This Program for ages 7–13, runs from April 22 through June 13. The program will meet twice per week for a total of 17 structured practices, with no sessions Memorial Day weekend. Athletes will focus on a variety of a running and track style events in a positive, team-centered environment. The season will include two local track meets, giving participants the opportunity to apply their training in a fun and supportive setting. Select Saturdays will also feature offsite trail runs to build stamina and keep training fresh and engaging. This program is just $25 per participant.

1st Ever Youth Dek Hockey League

JRP Dek Hockey League is Accepting Registrations Now

Join the newest league in the newest outdoor facility in town! This shoes only league (no skates needed) will operate just like all of our other traditional sports in town, where everyone will be placed on a team, supplied a jersey, and have a weekly practice and game.


  • Skate, stick, score: Fast-paced action on every shift.
  • Teamwork wins: Build skills, bonds, and bragging rights.
  • Hockey outside: Enjoy the beautiful game outdoors.


Just like every other sport in town, volunteer coaches are a must! When registering please consider coaching a team and be part of this inaugural leagues program design.


Helmets with full cage/visor, shin guards, gloves and a stick are required. Limited equipment is available for loan for new players. Please contact recreationstaff@ellington-ct.gov to secure your equipment if you are in need.

Food Explorers



Invites students in Grades 2–5 to a hands-on culinary adventure on Mondays from 5:30–6:30 PM, April 27 –May 18. Get ready for a delicious journey with Food Explorers! In this hands-on dessert class for kids, Celebrate the season with fresh, fruity, and fun desserts! In the hands-on cooking class, kids will create spring-inspired sweets like Raspberry Cheesecake Pies, Lemon Sugar Cookie Trifles, Apricot Croissant Bites and Peach Melba Crumbles. All recipes are nut-free and vegetarian but will contain dairy, eggs, and gluten.All recipes are nut-free and vegetarian. This program encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through sensory-rich experiences, hands-on learning, and our unique “food neutral” approach, giving kids the freedom to explore and build confidence in the kitchen. The program fee is $80 per child, and all materials are provided.
