Statement of Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, archbishop of Chicago, on the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization
|
Today (June 24, 2022), the U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturns the court’s tragic 1973 decision that removed legal protection for unborn children. We welcome this important ruling and the opportunity it creates for a national conversation on protecting human life in the womb and promoting human dignity at all stages of life. This moment should serve as a turning point in our dialogue about the place an unborn child holds in our nation, about our responsibility to listen to women and support them through pregnancies and after the birth of their children, and about the need to refocus our national priorities to support families, particularly those in need.

At Fatima, Our Lady asked us to go to confession, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary and keep her company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary. If we do this on the First Saturday of five consecutive months, Our Blessed Mother has promised to assist with all the graces necessary for salvation at the hour of death.
We know Sunday is the day we set aside for Our Lord, but do you have an hour on the First Saturday of the month to spend with His Mother, Our Blessed Mother? Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament has begun First Saturday Devotions again immediately following Mass at QR on the first Saturday of the month. We're looking for Ministry Groups to take turns leading the Rosary and providing fellowship (breakfast light bites and maybe some coffee) on the First Saturday of each month.

This Saturday, July 2nd is First Saturday. The Rosary will be led by Mrs. Uhlarik and begins immediately following daily Mass at Queen of the Rosary.

"The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation."
–Numbers 14:18
