Brookings Communities That Care (CTC)

CTC Youth Advisory Board: Members Wanted!

Brookings CTC Youth Involvement workgroup is looking for outstanding youth in grades 6-12 to participate in the Brookings Youth Advisory Board (YAB). This group meets for about 1 hour, six times a year, to discuss issues facing youth in our community, provide feedback on programming, and guide decisions on youth outreach efforts.

To learn more or suggest a participant, please reach out to Kirsten Gjesdal at kirsten@growthalliance.org

Brookings CTC Action Planning

As final revisions to the newly developed action plan move forward, board members will continue advancing two priority focus areas alongside community stakeholders. Work connected to the local youth mentoring program will focus on expanding mentoring opportunities, increasing mentor recruitment efforts, and strengthening engagement with local businesses.

Separately, in partnership with the school district, efforts will continue to support positive youth culture and broaden community education surrounding Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) within local schools.
