The PIOUS - Farooq I. Selod Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that will be offered to two full-time students majoring in TISA's Master of Arts in Islamic Studies (48 units), with a concentration in Islamic Sciences and Religious Leadership. This is a full tuition & and expense scholarship based on merit and eligibility.
To apply for this scholarship, students must complete the TISA admission application and receive approval from the Admissions Committee.

The Dialogue of Abrahamic Faiths Course, hosted by the Washington Theological Consortium and the International Institute of Islamic Thought at United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia, was an enriching learning experience. As a skeptic of interfaith and its goals, this course allowed me to apply the critical thinking and exercises in empathy that I learned at The Islamic Seminary of America. Read more

Spring 2024 Weekend In-Person Classes | |
Alhamdulillah! Our Spring 2024 semester has started with intensive weekend class sessions. Our students attended the Advanced Akhlaq and Spirituality class taught by Sh. Dr. Yasir Qadhi and the Islam in America class taught by Dr. Jimmy Jones, Imam Hamza Abdul-Malik, and Atty. Roula Allouch. These in-person class sessions allow students to get to know each other and have meaningful face-to-face conversations with the teachers and other classmates. | |
The MASCONHTX took place from Dec. 22-24 attended by over 3000 registrants from Texas, Lousiana, Oklahoma, and surrounding states (and 37 speakers from across the nation). TISA Executive VP Dr. Jimmy Jones and Dean Dr. Yasir Qadhi both spoke in keynote sessions. Dr. Jones addressed the audience on the topics of “Interfaith Relations at School and the Community” and “Mental Health 101: Blueprint for Well Being”. He also addressed the Education Track on the topic of “Why You Should Get Mental Health First Aid Certified”. On Saturday, January 13, 2024, TISA presented at the 2024 Association of Muslim Chaplains Members conference which took place virtually on Hopin. The theme of the conference this year was Integrating Faith and Practice and attended by about 100 chaplains and pastoral caregivers from across the nation.
The program consisted of a wide array of enriching and relevant topics, including student presentations given by two TISA master’s students.
