Summer Days make way for Fall Feels!
|
|
|
|
This month, we are soaking up the final notes of summer fun, and welcoming the sights, sounds, and smells of the fall season. Perennial favorites -
Brimfield Antiques & Collectibles Show,
The Big E (especially Massachusetts Day, September 21st), and
King Richard's Faire - are surefire wins for family fun. Foodie festivals like the
Lowell Food & Wine Festival, the
New England Indonesian Festival, and the
48th Annual Cape Cod Scallop Fest will make for happy and full bellies! And for the music lovers, sway-to-the-beat jazz is in full supply with the
Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival in Boston and
JazzFest Falmouth on the Cape.
Continuing in the spirit of Thoreau's Bicentennial, Concord steps into the spotlight with these happenings:
"Nature: A Walking Play" at
The Old Manse tells the story of Thoreau and Emerson through their love for the natural world;
"This Ever New Self: Thoreau and His Journal" is a special exhibit at the Concord Museum, displaying Thoreau's actual journals, manuscripts, and more; and a
Thoreau-centric itinerary inspires visitors to explore Concord sites touched by the life and work of the notable writer.
