Our HSSD students were part of the opening ceremony at the 2019 Arkansas Department of Education Summit hosted at the Hot Springs Convention Center June 18-21. Educators and administrators from across Arkansas were greeted with a memorable Pledge of Allegiance and Color Guard Flag Ceremony by our outstanding kids!
The Hot Springs School District is so proud of our eight Jr. Beta Club National Awards, brought home from the National Beta Club Convention hosted in Oklahoma City, June 15-18. CONGRATS to our dedicated Jr. Beta students and sponsors - we are so proud of you! And, thank you to the support from our wonderful parents, partners, and Jr. Beta sponsors/volunteers for all of your work throughout the year to bring our kids so far. On June 24, the HSSD Administration and School Board announced the selection of Mrs. Taryn Echols as HSSD Assistant Superintendent. A native of Helena, Arkansas, Mrs. Echols has served in administrative roles within the HSSD since 2013 - most recently at our HSWCHS. Learn more, here.
On May 21, the HSSD Administration and School Board announced the selection of Dr. Tremayne White as Hot Springs World Class High School Principal. Dr. White is a native of North Little Rock. He began his career in education as a teacher in the Little Rock School District. He has served as an Administrator in the North Little Rock and Batesville School Districts. Learn more, here.
On May 21, the HSSD Administration and School Board announced the selection of Mrs. Gordon as Oaklawn Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School Principal. She is a native of Hot Springs and an alumni of the HSSD (she started kindergarten at our own Gardner STEM Magnet!). She returned to HSSD to pursue her career in education ten years ago. The HSSD will continue hosting summer Pee Wee Camps for students entering 1st-6th grade for the following athletic activities in July: Soccer (July 8-10) and Basketball (July 22 - 24). A fee of $10 per camp will be charged per student. Find details and registration forms, here.
