The Colorado Women's Hall of Fame was nominated for four different "Great Colorado Women" films this year, and we took home two winners!

Message from the Board Chair

Dear friends and supporters of the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame,

As summer starts to wind down, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past few months and celebrate the remarkable achievements of our organization. In March, we proudly inducted the Class of 2022, marking yet another milestone in our mission to honor the exceptional women of our state. I'm delighted to share that our "Great Colorado Women" films have garnered significant recognition, with four Heartland EMMY award nominations and two winners!

Moreover, I'm thrilled to announce that the "Who are We?" curriculum, a collaboration between the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame and National History Day Colorado, is set to provide back-to-school training for Colorado teachers in August. This exciting program showcases all 189 inductees and plays a vital role in ensuring that the next generation of leaders comprehends the significance of acknowledging and celebrating women's contributions throughout history. We so appreciate our partnership with NHDC Executive Director Celeste Archer and Associate Director Dr. Kelly Cvanciger.

Looking ahead, I am delighted to reveal that the nomination period for the Class of 2024 will open on August 1st. I urge each and every one of you to consider nominating women who have made a profound impact in their respective fields and communities.

With warm regards, Barbara Beckner, CWHF Board Chair

Anna Jo Garcia Haynes Honored

“Nobody does this kind of work alone. That just doesn’t happen,” Garcia Haynes said. “It happens when you work together to accomplish what you’d like to accomplish.”

Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) gave Garcia Haynes an honorary Master's in Education University of Colorado Denver and

(CU-Denver) bestowed on her an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
