Summer Camp Weekly Programs

Week 1: Homesteading & Homemaking

Campers will learn the value and skills in cultivating beauty in the home by creating functional clean and organized spaces, learning about all of the chores that make a home a peaceful setting for everyone, and learn about their responsibility in serving their parents through conversations about the rights and responsibilities toward their parents.

Week 2: Farming Life

In keeping with our sunnah of cleanliness, showing love to our family and caring for animals, campers will learn how to care for our home, family and animals. They will be taught how to clean clothes and homes in addition to learning about how healthy and happy animals will also keep you healthy and happy!

Week 3: How does my Garden Grow?

In keeping with the sunnah of cultivating the earth and farming, campers will learn how to start seedlings, planting and basic gardening techniques.

As far as outdoor activities go, gardening is hard to beat for promoting well-rounded development in youngsters. Whether the garden is in pots on an apartment balcony, a community patch or right out the back door, kids who engage with it are harvesting a whole lot more than food and flowers.

Week 4: Preserving Food

Canning, drying, and freezing allow you to control your food ingredients and eat healthy year-round. Preserving food reduces food waste, waste in landfills, and our environmental footprint.

How can we preserve our harvest? Campers will learn canning, pickling, freezing and drying techniques.

Week 5: Dairy Crafting

Campers will learn how to take the steps to make their cheese & dairy products more naturally, without packaged starters, additives and chemicals.

Campers will learn the basics of how to make cheese, butter, yogurt, ice cream and whipped cream. Yum!!!

Week 6: Sewing & Textiles

An important sunnah that we often overlook is sewing! The Prophet (SAW) used to sew and mend his clothing. During this week, campers will learn about different types of textiles and how they are produced. They will also learn to stitch, sew buttons and seams.
