Pumpkin Theatre's 50th Season
Pumpkin Theatre is celebrating its Golden Anniversary in 2017. For this 50th season, we are taking our mainstage shows on the road! Our 2017/2018 season includes four brand new productions that will be mounted in part at our home at Har Sinai Congregation and in part at the exciting and innovative Single Carrot Theatre. With our performances at Single Carrot, the mainstage season will be back in Baltimore City for the first time in over thirty years. By special arrangement, we are also producing two of these shows in an exciting Mini-Series at the Gordon Center of the Performing Arts. We so look forward to showcasing our 50th mainstage season on stages all over the Greater Baltimore Area.

For Pumpkin Theatre's first foray into creating a work for teens and preteens Candles in the Dark explores a conversation about how a community comes together to support each other in the face of intolerance and fear. The piece is framed with traditional Holiday music and includes performers from Pumpkin's Company of actors and kids from Har Sinai Congregation. This new play is a co-production with Har Sinai and focuses on the true story of the Schnitzer family in Billings, Montana and how that community stood up for their neighbors. A hopeful tale of forgiveness and humanity.
