Place of Hope Receives Multi-Million Dollar Gift!
Earlier this year, we took over an 11-acre campus in Stuart off Cove Rd., formerly Samaritan's House for Boys. The 60 year old campus was in desperate need of building renovations, painting, irrigation, and landscaping. Thanks to four incredibly generous families, The Berlin Family Foundation, Bobbi and John Erbey Foundation, Tom and Kathleen Lane, and the Marshall E. Rinker, Sr. Foundation Inc. we received a collective $5.5 million dollar gift to renovate and significantly expand the campus!
“These amazing four families picked up the phone when we called. Through their generosity, we were able to guarantee that we can still continue to help so many people in need. We are ecstatic.” Charles Bender, CEO of Place of Hope.
The Bobbi and John Erbey Foundation said, “We have confidence and trust in the leadership of Place of Hope. For years, the organization has demonstrated an impact on the community. This Stuart property has a lot of potential. It just made sense to give and we’re looking forward to the community joining us."
Consider a one time or recurring gift to support this campus and its programs and have your gift matched dollar-for-dollar by this challenge fund created by these four amazing families.

A Day at The Park!
Summer family vacations and family outings are a big deal at Place of Hope! This summer family outing was a home run!
Thanks to one of our generous supporters who donated Roger Dean Stadium baseball tickets, three of our cottages were able to attend over the 4th of July weekend. They had a ball - literally!
For most of our kids this was the first time going to a baseball game. Before the game started, they got the full "day at the park" experience, walking around the stadium where they were able to play games like pop-o-shot. One of the cottage's boys were so good at the game that they won gift cards to a local restaurant that they will use for more family summer outings!
What is a baseball game without trying the stadium food and snapping some pics with the team mascot? Our kids got to do just that! The afternoon ended with 4th of July fireworks. This family time was super special as one of our sibling groups said it was a great "family experience!" We call that a home run!

MEET THERESA PEAK
Theresa Peak is the Director of our sister entity, Villages of Hope, which serves aged out foster youth and community youth who without Villages of Hope, are homeless. Theresa has been faithfully serving on our team for over 17 years! In her years, she has seen the need for a transitional independent living program continue to increase. What started in 2006 with one campus serving 12 young adults, has grown into three campuses spanning over 25 acres serving single moms with children, emancipated foster youth, homeless youth, families in transition and human trafficking survivors! We are truly grateful for her leadership and servants heart.
"My mission is to empower the next generation to excel regardless of life obstacles and give guidance to those who are lost and provide love to those who have been rejected."

Throwdown for the Kids is a charity Crossfit competition hosted by @TheCrossfitSquad to raise money for the children and youth in Place of Hope's daily care. The first year they raised over $7,000. Last year they raised nearly to $9,000! Owner and Coach, Derek Bishop says, "Our goal is to raise over $10,000 this year! We created Throwdown For The Kids because we want to make a difference in the world for kids who had little chance at a normal life. We raise these funds in hopes of bettering these children after being saved from trafficking. As a father I can’t imagine this type of thing and how it must affect a person. The least we can do is this."
Registration will be open soon! Want an added challenge? Let Place of Hope give you your own fundraising page and ask your friend and family to support you as you compete to Throwdown For The Kids! Email jamieb@placeofhope.com today!
