EBCAP WIC, First in RI to Win Prestigious U.S.D.A. Award

Singing Out Against Hunger
Singing Out Against Hunger, an all-volunteer group in Tiverton, RI will hold a musical event fundraiser on September 7, 2018 from 5-9 pm at Evelyn's Drive In on Main Road in Tiverton, RI. Proceeds benefit area food pantries, including those of EBCAP. Since 2003, Singing Out Against Hunger has raised nearly $185,000 for EBCAP's food pantries. For event details please visit

Fundraiser Planned for East Bay Recovery Center September 21st
Mark your calendar for Friday, September 21, 2018 for "Addicted to Laughter," a comedy fundraiser being held by Bristol Health Equity Zone to benefit East Bay Recovery Center. It will be held at 7 p.m. at East Bay Recovery Center, St. Michael's Parish Hall, 378 Hope Street, Bristol, RI. Tickets will go on sale soon. If bought in advance they will be $25 and at the door they will be $30. Food and soft drinks will be included.
15th Annual Seaside Gala, Boots & Bling, Held June 7th
“Boots & Bling” was the theme of East Bay Community Action Program’s 15th Annual Seaside Gala held June 7th at Castle Hill Inn in Newport. Former Senate President, M. Teresa Paiva Weed, now President of the Hospital Association of Rhode Island, served as the Honorary Chair for the event, and Neighborhood Health Plan of RI was the Leading Sponsor.  More

4th Annual Baby Steps Benefit Held July 25th
More than 100 guests were in attendance at the 4th Annual Baby Steps Benefit, held July 25th at the Rotunda on Easton's Beach in Newport. Honorary Co-Hosts Colleen Burns Jermain, Newport Public Schools Superintendent, and Traci Westman, Principal of the Claiborne Pell Elementary School in Newport,thanked guests for supporting the program that strengthens parenting skills and fosters literacy with children beginning at birth up to 3 years of age.

Literacy Volunteers of East Bay,
a Celebration of Students' Success
A night of celebration for students and tutors of Literacy Volunteers of East Bay (LVEB), a division of East Bay Community Action Program was held Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the VFW Hall in Bristol, RI. The celebration marked the end of an academic year, and featured a potluck dinner, awards presentation, and a reading of essays by students. More
