Greetings!
From the Pastor's Desk

I met with Father James Peterson last week for lunch, and he is looking forward to coming to Immaculate Conception. He will begin serving as the Parochial Administrator of this parish on Saturday, July 28. He will move into the Rectory during late July. I also learned last week that Father John Gallas will be assigned to Immaculate Conception Church as the Temporary Parochial Administrator from July 2-27, and his role will be to preside at weekday and weekend Masses until Father Peterson arrives in late July. Father Gallas will live at the St. Paul Seminary and commute to Immaculate Conception for the Masses here. He will also cover funeral Masses and anointings of the sick as needed. Lastly, I learned that there will be another priest living in the Rectory starting June 12, and his name is Father Bruno Nwachukwu. He is the new chaplain at De La Salle High School in Minneapolis and the new chaplain at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. He and Father Peterson are friends from the seminary, and I think it’s great for them to live together at the Rectory because there is plenty of room. Father Bruno will cover some weekday Masses for me while I am out of town on retreat for three days in mid-June. I will be moving out of the Rectory in late June and moving into St. Pascal Baylon parish in St. Paul where I begin serving as their pastor on July 2. Changes in life are sometimes not easy, but I believe the God is with us always, and if we are open to God’s plan in our life, God will show us the path of our life and give us the strength to walk that path.

The months of May and June bring us to the end of the 2017-18 fiscal year, and our parish is facing a projected deficit of $ 25,000 in our Sunday collection income for July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018. If possible, please give an extra $10, $25, $50, $100 or more beyond your current giving level to help us “Close the Gap Before June 30” and eliminate our projected deficit.
