SUMMER LAST WEEK, FALL THIS WEEK

What a glorious weekend we just had with temperatures in the upper 80s! What a dramatic change it is with rain today and through the early parts of this week. October is normally variable in weather and our major transition month as we go from our relatively dry late summer and make our way into an incredibly wet fall and early winter. We are changing our focus as the conditions and landscape needs change. We are now on an alternate week mowing schedule, trying to catch dry weeks, like last week. During wet weeks we focus our attention on finishing up our pruning and beginning for leaf removal.

MOWING WILL BE COMPLICATED BY THE RAIN

With the wet weather, we also return to challenging mowing conditions. Although we are heading to winter, the warm weather will keep grass growing into November, requiring some mowing. The heavy rain saturates the soil and makes mowing difficult, and at times impossible. We are monitoring the weather and will mow when weather allows.  We will be on varied schedules to accomplish this and occasionally send our crews home on wet days to instead work later in the week or over the weekend as the weather allows. We are sorry to change our schedule but do not want to damage your landscape with our activity.

ENJOY THE FALL COLORS STARTING TO COME ON

With the great sunny weather we've had this past week and many trees beginning to change color, there have been some beautiful sites on many of our landscapes with the Red and yellow fall color beginning to occur. We always enjoy this time but know that it is signs of change and significant work for us going into November to pick up all the leaves that are about to fall. We should all enjoy it while we can.

LEAF REMOVAL IS STARTING

As said, we will be focusing on leaf removal as we get a little bit later into the fall. We are well equipped for leaf removal using our truck mounted vacuums. We will pick up thousands of yards of leaves in the next two months.
