We hope you will visit us all summer long for stories in the park (and in the Library), performers, Makerspace activities and so much more.

EXPLORE LOCAL PARKS
Parks & Packs
In June, the Library will launch a new service for kids aged 4-10: Grab & Go backpacks filled with everything you need for a fun day at a State Park! At our Saturday, June 3, 1pm kick-off event, you can enjoy stories and crafts, and check out a backpack. Learn more

Grab and Go Kids Discovery Backpack is supported by funding provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.

State Parks Passes
Did you know that with your library card, you can check out a free vehicle day-use pass to visit 200+ California State Parks. The passes are in our online catalog for you to put a hold on and pick up at your local library. Each of these passes are good for 3 weeks and grant free entry for one motorcycle/passenger vehicle with capacity of nine people or less. Place a hold on a pass here.

San Mateo County Parks Passes
More good news! You don't have to adventure far to enjoy the great outdoors. Our County has some majestic parks bordering the ocean and the bay and in the hills in between. You can check out passes to local San Mateo County parks. Simply visit your local library to pick up a pass, good for free vehicle day-use.
WE ❤ OUR VOLUNTEERS
Are you looking for ways to take a more active role in the community? The Downtown Library has volunteer roles to fit a variety of different interests, skillsets, and schedules. No experience necessary—we can train you for any volunteer role.
