This month, we're bringing you reading and viewing recommendations for Indigenous History Month, along with a special trivia challenge. Read through for Friends of the Library news (their AGM is tonight) and an exciting anniversary announcement from our Wolf Performance Hall. And, for the first time since the summer of 2019, our neighbourhood branches are offering a full slate of great, in person summer programs for children and families, including the TD Summer Reading Program. We couldn't be more excited to welcome back the thousands of London children who make our branches their second home over the summer. We've missed you! You'll find details about summer programs below. Happy Summer!

Summer Registration Starts Saturday!

Hexbugs, Hip Hop, Craig the Science Guy, Captain Corbin, Cartooning, Circuits, 3D Printing and so many more cool summer programs are going on this summer at our neighbourhood branches.

We've got lots of fun, in person programs to choose from, and we're bringing back our most popular online programs, too. Registration starts this Saturday, June 25, for programs in July.

TD Summer Reading Club

Registration for this year's TD Summer Reading Club begins on Saturday and continues through the summer. Drop by your neighbourhood branch to sign up your children (pre-reader to age 12) and then participate at your pace, until August 20. This year’s theme is Once Upon a Time; Myths and Legends.

The TD Summer Reading Club is a free program that encourages kids to have fun reading over the summer. The program supports and motivates kids at every reading level!

In this program, children track their daily reading through the summer for a chance to win weekly prizes. Children will explore books, complete fun activities and chat about their reading with Library staff to earn ballots. We love your visits!

Want to participate virtually? Register online using Beanstack to track daily reading and complete challenges to earn badges.

Fun Summer Challenge for Teens

Teens - escape your everyday and step into another world. Track your daily reading online on Beanstack this summer for a chance to win weekly prizes.

If you're new to Beanstack, register for an account here and then watch for the Teen Summer Reading Challenge on Beanstack starting this Saturday, June 25. The Summer Challenge continues until August 20.

We're also featuring The Prairie Chicken Dance Tour, by Dawn Dumont. Find this ebook on Hoopla here.

FRIENDS BOOKSTORE NEWS

The Friends of the Library Bookstore is open six days a week: Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Friends Bookstore largely relies upon public donation of material that is sold in the store. Many of the items the Friends carry are in brand new condition, sold at bargain prices. The Friends of the Library recently surpassed two million dollars in donations to the library, so your donation of books, DVD movies, music CDs and LPs, helps to support your library in a meaningful way. Visit the Friends' website to learn about donating material to the Friends for the Bookstore.

The Friends Bookstore is now offering on-line sales, which you can access here. This web site displays the wide selection of books, including many special and hard to find items, available at the Friends Bookstore.

Volunteers of the Friends will be participating at the Home County Music and Art Festival, July 15-17, selling books and other material from the Friends Bookstore. They will be collaborating with two other booksellers, Bread and Roses and Brown and Dickson, so if you drop by their tent, you will be assured of finding a wide selection of material from these three sources.

August 3-13, the Friends Bookstore will be celebrating and holding its 17th. Anniversary Sale. Be sure to come by the store as special prices will be in effect.
