The JAM InTown Mission Immersion is designed to engage middle school youth in meaningful service throughout our local community.

Monday through Thursday, we will volunteer at local agencies throughout the Denver Metro Area. This year our focus will be on those who are responding to the needs of our unhoused neighbors. Over the week we will learn about the complexities and root causes of experiencing homelessness, expanding our hearts with greater compassion and empathy as we gain a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.

On Friday we have an extended day, going to Estes Park to celebrate our week of service through play.

Each day will include opportunities to build friendships with youth at Montview through the week's activities as we serve, play, reflect, and worship.

The mission immersion experience will include both physical labor (such as cleaning, landscaping, or sorting food) and relational experiences (such as providing hospitality and friendship to our neighbors living on the margins).

This summer we're heading to Montreat, NC for week 5 of Montreat Youth Conference!

What is Montreat?!

Nestled in the mountains of Western, NC, Montreat Youth Conference is an annual conference designed for youth and planned with youth. As one youth put it, Montreat Youth Conference is a good place to fill yourself up so that you can go back home and spread the love. Each week, 1000 youth gather from around the country to connect with one another, with God, with creation, and with yourself.

The Montreat Youth Conference is a transformative experience in the lives of youth around the country. Youth are provided a space to grow and engage in one’s faith and spirituality. Bible study is important, and so is community recreation, building friendships with others, and staying up a little later than normal. Faith is made tangible when we’re able to see God in each other.

At Montreat youth stay in houses or college dorms, where you get to hang out with your home church for meals, games, sleeping, and conversation.

Montview Juniors and Seniors will be heading to San Juan the capital of Puerto Rico to partner with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) who have been providing long term recovery following hurricanes Irma and Maria, which caused huge damage in the community. PDA prioritizes partnerships with local agencies taking the lead in these recovery efforts. Our work projects will be chosen and guided by locals and we will follow their lead in offering our support. Projects may be focused in all phases of construction, from demolition/removing debris, to final touches like framing, priming, painting, etc.

While in Puerto Rico we will be at our worksites from 8:30 AM - 3:30PM. Afternoons and evenings will include excursions that give us a glimpse into the life and culture of Puerto Rico.
