Summer Music & Learning at ETM-LA
This Summer, nearly 100 students from partner schools across Los Angeles enrolled in ETM-LA's two-week Summer Music Program! Students participated in virtual summer course offerings of strings ensemble, band ensemble, and vocal/general music. Jazz and blues were themes for this summer; activities included students creating a blues piece together, improvising with their instruments and voices, and exploring artists such as B.B. King and Randy Newman.

"My kids loved the small groups, they thrive when their instructor encouraged active participation. They had so much fun learning about the different types of music. Their favorite part was learning how to scat."
- ETM-LA Parent, 2022 Summer Program

With mental health and wellness of utmost importance for our students, each day began with a music therapy session led by ETM-LA's Ricardo Hurtado to help students be present and decompress before diving into the musical learning.

"I loved the wellness check! All the Music Teachers and staff worked well as a team to make this Music Class exciting. Thank you for sharing your talents."

Before the start of our Summer Program, our incredible staff and music teachers created a "Welcome" video for the students. Take a look!
THANK YOU to the California Community Fund for their generous support of our Summer Music Program as part of the LA County Summer Learning Initiative.
