15-LOVE Announces

New Interim Executive Director

We are thrilled to introduce Maxine Brisport as our new Interim Executive Director, effective June 9, 2025. Maxine has been with the organization for the last 15 years as our Education Director. She has led the College Prep & Leadership program, helping Capital Region students prepare for college and life beyond. Maxine steps into this role with a wealth of experience and a passion for our mission, and we’re excited to have her leadership guide us through this transitional period.

In her role as Interim Executive Director, Maxine will work closely with our Board of Directors and staff to maintain our momentum while preparing the organization for a transition to our next permanent leader. Her priorities include strengthening our core programs, enhancing staff collaboration, and ensuring we continue to move our mission forward.

Maxine’s first encounter with 15-LOVE was in the mid 1990’s, when she enrolled her daughter in the summer lessons at the Michigan Avenue Tennis Court. Fortunately, her daughter enjoyed the lessons and continued to participate each summer until she graduated from high school. In December 2010, Maxine decided to get involved with 15-LOVE by providing college preparation and leadership training to middle and high school students.

“I applied to for the position to provide college preparation and leadership training because of my belief that with a supportive adult, most students will be able to achieve their desired goals and aspirations” said Brisport. “Specifically, my beliefs directly aligned with mission of the 15-LOVE to reach out in a loving, caring way to youth of the Capital Region, especially those in the inner cities. Overall, I am drawn to the organization because it directly impacts young people's futures by providing them with the tools and opportunities to succeed beyond high school.”

Maxine brings over 30 years of education and psychology experience, having served as a school psychologist for the Troy City School District from 1997-2022. Most recently, she worked as an education support specialist providing peer support for members of the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). Maxine obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Baruch College; Masters of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) with an Advanced Certification in School Psychology from Brooklyn College; and a Masters of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) in Educational Leadership from the College of Saint Rose.

Maxine lives in Rotterdam and is married with 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Her hobbies include gardening, bike riding and bird watching.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Maxine as she embarks on this journey with us. We’re confident her experience and enthusiasm will inspire us all as we move forward together.
