MARIN COUNTY EXPANDS ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR YOUTH!
The County of Marin recently received a $4 million grant to provide additional mental and behavioral health services for youth in San Rafael and Novato high schools!

The $4 million grant has not been disbursed to CBOs at this point, however, Huckleberry Youth Programs was approached by the San Rafael High Schools to provide services under a separate grant that funds the same overall project goals of youth health and wellness coordination in the county.

Under the separate grant, Huckleberry will provide a coordinator to screen youth in San Rafael's high schools for mental health and substance use needs. The coordinator will then link youth to Huckleberry and other services as appropriate. San Rafael's hope is to eventually create Wellness Centers, with this project as a preliminary model.

Congratulations to the Huckleberry ACE (Access to College Equity) Academy Class Of 2021!

Huckleberry ACE Academy is a comprehensive, multi-year, academic enrichment, college access and workforce development program serving first-generation college students in Marin County. ACE provides youth in the program with supports to graduate from high school, gain professional experience to prepare for their future careers, and successfully transition to a post-secondary institution.

ACE Academy graduates will be attending the following colleges this fall: CSU Fullerton, CSU Northridge, UC Merced, College of Marin, Sonoma State, Dominican University, UC Berkeley, Cal Poly Pomona, San Francisco State University, and San Diego State University.

Special thanks to the Huckleberry Young Professionals Board for hosting a fundraising drive to secure special college care packages for ACE students!
