Safety REMINDER Golf Carts
A number of campers with Golf Cart Permits have been observed driving recklessly or violating the Golf Cart Permit Rules. In addition, some campers have expressed displeasure at what appears to be non-handicapped individuals using Golf Carts. As a reminder we require a state issued disability placard or disability license plate from the DMV. If licensees qualify for either of those, that is sufficient for obtaining approval for a Golf Cart Permit starting in 2021. The site number MUST be on the cart so that it can be easily read. We will begin removing Golf Cart priveleges if violations are reported to us, e.g. speeding, not stopping at stop signs, underage drivers, and verified by a staff member. (We have cameras to help us do that.) Reporting reckless driving or underage drivers on facebook is not the answer, please call 847-546-2228 to report reckless driving or underage drivers.
Safety REMINDER: Motorized Personal Vehicles
We sent an email on April 26th with an updated policy about Motorized Personal Vehicles because it was brought to our attention that some exceptions should be considered. Since then we've recieved a number of complaints about children riding motorized (bikes, hoverboards, scooters, etc.) recklessly, endangering people and property.
To reiterate; the ONLY exceptions to motorized personal vehicle use are for the types and individuals listed below. If your child is caught using any motorized vehicles our security staff will be calling you and escorting your child back to their site. This is for the safety of everyone at the park:
-
Personal mobility devices used by persons with disabilities
-
Ride-on motorized vehicles (miniature Barbie cars or Jeeps) used by small children with parent supervision-away from high traffic areas
-
Motorized bicycles or scooters with seats, used by persons with drivers licenses
