Greetings!
I love this picture...a precious little girl hanging upside down in the summer sunshine, totally relaxed and full of joy! Wow...perhaps symbolic of the hope we held onto during the incredible journey we experienced this past year!
Feeling upside down in so may ways, yet coming through it all with a renewed sense of resiliency and gratitude for the smallest joys in life.
All of us at the Child & Family Guidance Center of Texoma wish you much health, joy, and happiness. We hope your summer is filled with simple joys of life. Please take a few minutes to catch up.

CFGC resumes
face-to-face therapy sessions
While telehealth has been and continues to be a very effective and convenient way for CFGC to provide crisis intervention, therapy, and family support services, some clients, especially very young, require face-to-face sessions for the best treatment and outcomes.
In May, after an extensive risk analysis, CFGC opened to the public to offer medically necessary in-person care. Following the CDC guidelines, safety and sanitation policies, procedure, and protocols were put in place.
CFGC's model of care has expanded to a hybrid format. Clients can choose how they would like to access care, through telehealth or in-person.

Assisting Parents/Caregivers in Coping with Collective Traumas
Article from NCTSN fact sheets
In the past year there have been a multitude of traumas that each of us have experienced or witnessed through media exposure. These include the ongoing pandemic, economic hardship, violence and abuse, racism and discrimination, policy changes that negatively impact specific groups (e.g., LGBTQ+ people, immigrants) and system failures (e.g., health disparities, police brutality). There have also been numerous stressors including balancing work and parenting demands and managing other obligations at home and/or in our personal life. This combination of traumas and stressors may feel overwhelming right now. This may be especially true if you have experienced prior traumas and are being reminded of those past experiences.
Click here to read the full article of strategies to help you cope right now.
Please explore this website and many others for resources at CFGC's website resource page if you or someone you love needs access to resources.

Working with clients who are undocumented and their families can be challenging yet rewarding. However many therapists are at a loss for how to work with or assist these clients and their families. This training hopes to change that. Over the course of two hours, this training will cover common myths regarding immigration and undocumented immigrants, common terminology used in the immigration system, a basic overview of the immigration system, how to provide culturally competent care to undocumented clients and their families as well as local and online resources for clients and their families.
Clinical Director, Tiffany Dancer, LPC S will facilitate this seminar. Click below to learn more and register.

Our Team is Growing!
We are so very proud of our amazing CFGC staff! They are called to this heartfelt, difficult work everyday. We have added many new faces to our team, some evolving through our licensed intern program to become fully licensed therapists. We've added clinical and administrative support staff over the past several months to keep pace with the growing demand for services.
