“Listen to the air. You can hear it, feel it, smell it, taste it. Woniya wakan—the holy air—which renews all by its breath. Woniya, woniya wakan—spirit, life, breath, renewal—it means all that. Woniya—we sit together, don’t touch,
but something is there; we feel it between us, as a presence. A good way to start thinking about nature, talk about it. Rather talk to it, talk to the rivers, to the lakes, to the winds as to our relatives.”
― John (Fire) Lame Deer, Lame Deer, Seeker of Visions

The heat grows steadily, and the days get longer. We are deep in the light side of the medicine wheel. Summer is a memory of childhood freedoms, spontaneous vacations, and warm nights with friends. The roar of waves at the beach, or the graceful rush of wind in the trees, any moment can bring forth a multitude of summers past. Let these feelings take you, and ground you in who you are, but also in what can be had. Find yourself a beautiful summer, awaken the magic of the season, that healing abundance and plans that can come to fruition.

Vision Quest Success
Thank you to all that supported our nine questers! They and their number ones stood strong in their journeys in our sanctuary of Suma Sil. Gratitude for all the prayers and energetic support sent to them, it means so much in the way of safety, comfort, and strength to complete their journey. As well, thank you so much to Center Camp, all those that showed up to complete projects around our ceremonial space. We completed work on the Sweat Lodge, blanket shed, field shower, stage, and social fire pit. We also started work on painting our storage facilities. So much more beauty way to come as we continue to develop our sanctuary with love.

"Without community service, we would not have a strong quality of life. It's important to the person who serves as well as the recipient. It's the way in which we ourselves grow and develop."

Board and Committee Service
To achieve all our goals and the quality our community deserves, the board depends upon people to come and help. This kind of commitment can present itself in many ways, be it as a board member, board assistant, committee member, or project volunteer. If this is something that resonates with you, please connect with us and let us help you explore these possibilities.
There are many positions available within the board, as well as on other committees.

GoFundMe Campaign
Now that we can start to dream on our sanctuary, our first major project is to build a permanent restroom facility. This would be a place for showers, sinks, and toilets. A financially big project, but essential to the health and well being of our sanctuary. We have started with a GoFundMe campaign for those that wish to directly donate to its manifestation.

Day on the Land
July 10th 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
In the Spirit in continuing to develop our sacred site we are asking community to join in a work day party to complete and develop projects that need to be done. There are various projects to do, such as painting, setting up the medicine wheel, watering the land, compressing soil, beauty way, the list could go on! Come find where you fit!
Bring:
- Gloves
- Sunblock
- Water (ours is drinkable!)
- Lunch/Snacks
- Chainsaw and Weedwhackers would be great!
Also if someone is good at Poison Oak (Guardian Oak) abatement, we need some removed, and that would be so AWESOME!
