Protecting yourself from skin cancer by using sunscreen has the added bonus of keeping you looking young, according to a study published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine. During a 5 year study, experts saw almost no significant indications of photoaging (the visible aging effect of ultraviolet light on skin which includes lines, wrinkles and coarseness) among the group asked to use the sunscreen daily.

  

Although the results of the study are no surprise to Dermatologists,the findings are significant given the study's length, number of subjects and location.  Maybe a little vanity will persuade more to take sunscreen more seriously.

No doubt at some time or another you got rid of some hair only to be greeted with redness, irritation and bumps a few days later. Yes, lovely ingrown hairs. Rest assured there are some things you can do to prevent this pesky problem.

 

An ingrown hair occurs when a shaved or tweezed hair grows back into the skin, causing inflammation. For some women, the best remedy may be Laser Hair Reduction (see our promotion below). If laser is not an option for you, try using a gentle scrub prior to shaving, which will both remove dead skin for a cleaner shave, and help point hair out of the skin for it to be properly shaved. Use a newer blade and shave with the grain. After shaving, use a product containing buffered fatty alcohol, which gives the astringent benefits of alcohol, with much less stinging and all of the bacteria killing benefits.

 

To prevent scarring, do not pick at the skin with your fingers.
