Admissions, aviation program represent campus at KC Air Show
K-State pride was on full display at the Kansas City Air Show this past weekend. The aviation program and the admissions office traveled to Charles B. Wheeler Downtown Airport July 6 and 7 to bring attendees of the event a full Wildcat experience. The Beechcraft Baron and a Cessna 172 were on display while five CFIs and Bill Gross, chief pilot and aviation professor, mingled with the crowd and answered questions about the professional pilot degree. The admissions team spoke to parents and children about the campus and its offerings and operated the simulator, which logged close to 200 flights from guests. Many current students and alumni stopped by to say hi, including 2007 professional pilot graduate Brandon Hempler who was at the air show flying for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
Campus life
Free plants, flowers available at facilities building
After several gardens on campus have been spruced up, there are leftover plants and flowers looking for a home. The greenery is located on a trailer near the facilities building on the north end of campus. Feel free to take as many plants as you will use and there are grocery bags on the trailer hitch to help with transporting them. Do not take any of the buckets and refrain from touching the potted plants on the ground. For questions, contact Beth Drescher at 785-826-2963 or [email protected].
New proposed hours for Student Life Center
Would you like an extra hour in the morning to workout at the Student Life Center?

Kyle Chamberlin, SLC coordinator, has been asked to open the facility at 5 a.m. and he would like to incorporate the new time frame starting this fall if enough people are interested. If you think you would utilize the SLC between 5 and 6 a.m., please email or call Kyle before Aug. 1 so he can make the proper accommodations. He can be reached at 785-826-2662 or [email protected].
