Toward a Concrete Utopia: Architecture in Yugoslavia, 1948-1980

Students of the School of Architecture designed and fabricated five models featured in this exhibition currently on view in the 3rd Floor Exhibition Galleries at the Museum of Modern Art. The Project began as an elective class "Modeling Yugoslav Architecture," taught by Matthew Worsnick, 2016-17 MRC Fellow in Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art.

The exhibition was organized by Martino Stierli, The Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design, The Museum of Modern Art, and Vladimir Kulic, guest curator, with Anna Kats, Curatorial Assistant, Department of Architecture and Design, The Museum of Modern Art.

Summer Programs' Final Weeks

Students from the summer program have been busy exploring architecture through drawing, model making, lectures, site visits and participating in critiques. The college program participants are in the midst of work on their final assignment which culminates in a critique attended by guest scholars and professionals scheduled for Friday, August 3. High School program participants will work an additional week developing their projects prior to their final critiques.  The program is a platform for students to experience the design process and architectural thinking while developing a portfolio to apply for further study.
