The Land's Sake Goats Have Arrived!
| |
The long-awaited, greatly anticipated, Land's Sake goats have finally established their home at the Farm! We are so grateful to Lise Revers, the Dutton Foundation, and the Massachusetts Society for Promoting Agriculture (MSPA) for their support creating a safe place for our herd, to Payette for their design help, and to the Qureshi Family of Lincoln for letting us adopt their beloved goats. We are thrilled to finally have a herd to call our own all year round!
|
Please note the following rules when visiting the goats:
- Goats will be visible between the hours of 9am - 4pm.
- Only visit goats through the fence unless you are accompanied by a farmer.
- Do not feed goats human food! If you find grass, leaves or clovers on the ground nearby, you may feed them those.
- Please do not pull leaves or branches off of living trees.

What our Farmers are Doing in January
| | |
|
Like many Northeast farmers, the Land's Sake farm crew are busy in January designing crop plans, ordering seeds and materials, and maintaining equipment. In addition, our farm crew spend many cold winter days in the woods, harvesting specifically marked trees within forests on Weston’s Conservation lands. Our farm crew is trained and skilled at felling trees, skidding logs, and bucking, splitting, and stacking the wood that becomes next winter's firewood. This collaboration with the Weston Conservation Commission reflects Land's Sake's mission to connect people to the land and inspire the responsible stewardship of local woodlands.
