The gardening public is invited to browse the Seed Library in our repurposed card catalog at F. H. Cossitt Library Branch. Choose from vegetable, fruit, flower, and herb seeds offered by Burpee, High Mowing, Hudson Valley Seed Company, John Scheepers, True Leaf Market, and others. Your summer Adventure in Granbyland begins with an amazing performance by the KC Sisters, a nationally known, five sister girl band previously featured on Nickelodeon’s America’s Most Talented Family. All ages are invited to kick off the Library’s 2023 summer reading celebration. Arrive early to set up your lawn chairs and enjoy lawn games and a picnic supper. You bring the picnic; we provide the lawn games and the cookies! There are no tickets, but you do need to register. The book club will discuss author Amor Towles, (born 1964) an American Novelist raised in Boston, Massachusetts. He worked as an investment manager retiring after the proceeds from his first novel, Rules of Civility, were beyond his expectations. His second novel, A Gentleman in Moscow was on the NYT hardcover bestseller list for 59 weeks and a finalist for the 2016 Kirkus Prize for Fiction. His third novel, The Lincoln Highway, was chosen by Amazon as the best book of 2021. Towles lives in New York and is a collector of fine art and antiques. Leading the discussion is John Rusnock. Registration is requested.

It started with tweaking a DNA strand to prevent a hereditary illness and progressed to upgrading your unborn children, yourself, or even infecting someone else and forcing their DNA to change. When DNA manipulation becomes illegal, Logan Ramsey, an agent assigned to deal with genetic crimes, is infected with a virus during a routine raid of an underground market. But the virus upgrades his mental and physical prowess and Logan thinks this wasn’t an accident. Upgrade is fast paced, filled with thrills, cyber action & family mysteries. Leading the discussion is Jim Gorman.

Book Donations for Friends of Granby Libraries Annual Book Sale starts June 26th
This year, Friends of the Granby Public Libraries (FOGPL) 40th annual Used Book Sale will be held on July 28, 29 and 30th at Holcomb Farm and will start accepting donations in late June. The collection of all donations for the sale will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays at Holcomb Farm, located at 113 Simsbury Road, West Granby. Book sale donations will not be accepted at the library.
Evening drop offs- Mondays; June 26, July 10, and July 17 from 6-8 PM
Morning drop offs- Wed, June 28, July 5, July 12, and July 19 from 10 AM-12 PM
