Find yourself dancing!
Dear one: Since I last wrote, I've welcomed a precious little granddaughter. She was born on May 29th, in the wee morning hours to the best parents ever (my son and daughter in law) and is welcomed to this world by the two sweetest big brothers a girl could want.

So, they are the reason. This new dance is calling me and I'm moving to the Midwest to be near them. In fact, I bought an adorable house less than five minutes from theirs and only fifteen minutes from my daughter, son-in-law and their three children. My move date is June 30th and it's been a long time coming; with lots of preparation, intention, planning, and of course a spectrum of mixed emotions.

However, I'm confident, clear and even ecstatic about this next chapter in my book of life and that of the Dance! Sarah and I have worked tirelessly, collaboratively and intentionally to make this transition seamless; as it's been the plan for over three years now. She has a clear vision of what the dance is calling for and the skill, talent, commitment, resources, and support to midwife its evolution.

There's so much to come - you're going to LOVE it (just look at the Summer 2022 schedule below)!

I will stay peripherally involved; basically as much as Sarah would like and is helpful. I'll return from time to time to drop in with you to dance, play some music and make some hugs. Otherwise, I'll be behind the scenes helping with production operations and such. Our dance in Dallas is rock solid and rooted deep thanks to you - the culture, care, vision, essence, quality, and service of EDD is something I'm immensely proud of and confident in. It is maturing, improving, GROWING, and will continue onward brilliantly in its expansion and unfoldment with Sarah's visionary leadership.

The beat goes on! These transitions cause and call for reflection. I co-produced my first conscious dance event in May of 2009 at the Sammons Center for the Arts alongside my dear friend and fellow instigator, Liz Tucker-Rogers. I'll tell you about that, her, us, and how it all started when I write next.

Please come say hello and goodbye for now if you can on Sunday, June 19th. I'll be there!

Good stuff to know: Bring your own container for water, a yoga mat / blanket / bolster if you'd like, bring layers - light jacket or wrap to stay comfortable with fluctuating temps (i.e. sweating during dance, and getting cold afterwards), bring snacks for fuel through the night, (though, cacao will be served) bring your creative curiosity and sense of adventure too.
Featured Artist :: Matthew Human
Live Music Warmup | 6.19.22

Matthew Human, a Texas native, is an internationally recognized singer-songwriter and personality based in Costa Rica. With over seven studio albums and  a music career spanning more than 20 years, Human’s style is earthy and vibey, with a definitively country/folk influence and danceable upbeat rhythms drawn from a wide spectrum of world music.

Matthew’s songs are intentional, fun, and creative with an obvious goal of bringing people closer together and sometimes shining light on issues he feels need to be addressed such as protection of the food system, sacred plants and ancient traditions.

During his career, Matthew has been invited to perform as a featured artist outside the White House, and as the leader of his country-rock- world-dance band The Human Revolution, which was a staple on the US festival circuit for many years. He is as comfortable playing for a small cozy living room as he is opening shows for legends like Willie Nelson and has been joined on stage by members of The Doobie Brothers, Spearhead and many other notable bands. :::
