Summer learning is in full swing across Garden Grove Unified School District! From hands-on STEM projects to creative writing, art, enrichment, and academic support, GGUSD students are staying engaged and inspired all summer long. Classrooms are buzzing with energy and curiosity as students explore new concepts, build confidence, and prepare for a strong start to the new school year. Many GGUSD schools also offer full-day Boys & Girls Club programs to support student learning and growth.

GGUSD Hosts Successful Paraeducator Summer Academy

This week, GGUSD hosted its first-ever Paraeducator Summer Academy—a special opportunity for our incredible paraeducators to engage in paid professional development! Participants explored topics like supporting instruction for all learners and setting the stage for behavioral success, all while collaborating and sharing best practices. Our dedicated instructional and behavioral aides loved the chance to strengthen their skills and prepare for a successful 2025–26 school year!

GGUSD Offers Free Summer Meals

GGUSD is offering its annual free Summer Meal program to help ensure that children continue to have access to nutritional meals when school is not in session. The program provides free summer meals to GGUSD students who are participating in Summer School and Summer Extended Learning Programs.

The program also provides free meals to all community members age 18 and younger during designated community-based Summer Meal times offered at 13 school campuses and one public library. Individuals over the age of 18 with disabilities as defined by the CA Department of Education are also eligible for free meals.

Free Live-Chat Tutoring for All GGUSD Students

GGUSD has partnered with Varsity Tutors to offer FREE 24/7 live chat tutoring and one-hour tutoring sessions to support students in their academic success (Goal 1). The program is accessible from home through ClassLink using a district-provided device.
