Dear Parents,

Even though we are unable to have in-person summer school, learning should not stop for summer. We are offering a virtual summer school taught by St. Therese faculty for students in grades 1-8 from Monday, June 29 to Friday, July 31 from 9 am - 12 pm. Your student would sign up for their upcoming grade level in SY 20-21. The virtual summer school will provide more instruction and enrichment from our curriculum. There will be a minimum of 60 minutes of Zoom Instructional time in Math and Reading/English as well as Mandarin enrichment classes. We will be offering our Test Prep program for grades 7-8 to prepare for the high school entrance and standardized tests.

All school devices are serviced and updated during the summer. Therefore, all students must use their own home device participating in our virtual summer school . Laptops and Chromebooks are recommended for grades 3-8 while grades 1-2 can also use i-Pads.

Both the Grades 1-6 Virtual Summer School program and the Grades 7-8 Test Prep program do not use textbooks this year; educational materials will be shared through email and scanned documents.

Both programs will also have Golden Apple Scholars who are college seniors on a Pre-teacher track. The scholars will work with the St. Therese faculty members who will be able to offer small group and individualized help sessions through Zoom. We are very excited for this partnership with Golden Apple.

Costs of Summer Programs

Virtual summer school is open to returning St. Therese School students. Please make sure you have completed the entire registration process, including setting up your FACTS account to pay for the the summer program upon receipt of the invoice .

The Grades 1-6 Virtual Summer School Program per-student cost is $75 per week. You may sign up for one week or multiple weeks.

The cost is $600 for the five-week Grades 7-8 Test Prep Summer Program . Your child must sign up for all five weeks. During the last week, your child will come to the St. Therese Campus to take a practice test similar to standardized tests used in the high school admissions process.

If you are interested in signing up your child for either the Grades 1-6 Summer School or Grades 7-8 Test Prep Summer programs, click on Summer Programs Sign-up. Each class has a minimum and maximum number of participants for the section to run. We will contact you immediately if your class is closed or canceled.

Early Childhood Activity Packets

For those students in Early Childhood, we will continue to have activity packets and resources listed on our web page. One of our Early Childhood teachers will curate a collection of at-home activity sheets and other supports. We will have a limited number of paper packets available for pick up at the St. Therese School office. This is free of charge . We hope to keep our youngest students learning even in the summer months.

We can’t wait to see all of you in the Fall.

If you have any questions, please email me.

Take care and be well,
Ms. Lisa Deborah Oi
Principal
