Summer Is Here!
Summertime is finally here - it officially arrived last week and EFM is celebrating this wonderful season that brings a bounty of fresh and local products to market.

This Saturday you will find early summer veggies and fruits, barbecue grass-fed beef, pork and chicken, fresh baked goods, and other specialty products and beverages from EFM's vendors for your 4th of July Celebration. Summer is happening at EFM!

At last week’s June Bee Jamboree, the POP kids loved making their own pom-pom honey bee pins to wear around the market! They also got to sample some of Stagecoach Orchard Apiary’s natural, raw honey!

If your child is a member of the POP Club, you don't want to miss tomorrow at the POP tent when kids will be decorating Plant Markers and Painting Stones for Our Community Gardens! You're never too young to lend a hand to a community program and if your child is not yet a member, come to the POP tent and join in the fun.

Phillips Farms
Last Saturday Phillips Farms was voted Vendor of the Week. Their berries were flying out of the market as shoppers lined up to get the last of this season's strawberries and to take home those delicious gooseberries.

Be sure to place your Local Loyalty shopping list in the entry box at the EFM Info Tent to vote for your favorite vendor. And since this is the last week of the month, all shopping lists collected in the box this month will be in the June prize drawing for $50 in market tokens!

Cooking Fresh for Summer!
So, what to serve as a side dish at your 4th of July barbecue? Tired of the usual potato or macaroni salad? Try this instead: Broccoli, Apple & Cherry Summer Salad is a delicious salad recipe from Delightful E Made that is loaded with summer's fresh flavors. Our produce vendors have fruit and veggies for the salad ingredients and Raspberry Ridge Creamery has yogurt for the dressing.

Fresh Finds of the Week
Cabbage Throw Farm
Cabbage Throw is bringing their first eggplant to market -- only a limited supply available. But don’t worry, they’re bringing a whole lot of summer squash after getting their bumper crop this week! Zucchini muffins anyone?! Or how about zuke fries? Recipes for both squash treats available at the Cabbage Throw Farm tent. 

Also available this Saturday, romaine, fennel, beets, carrots, salad greens and more.
Comeback Orchards
Organic strawberries are still trickling in at Comeback Orchards as Pete is down to picking from only four beds, so limited quantities are going to be even more limited, but flavor is still good. Organic pie cherries and organic raspberries are still being picked as well. Fresh picked organic blackberries and blueberries from Rosedale Blueberry Farms will also be available.
Phillips Farms
What could be better than a rainbow of berries from Phillips Farms? Blueberries, Red Raspberries, Currants, and Gooseberries. And their Jersey Peaches are just around the corner!

Phillips Farms will also be offering their fresh and locally grown vegetables including spinach, arugula, fennel, spring garlic, and garlic scapes. Shelling peas (in the pod and out) may make one more appearance this week, so check it out early as you don't want to miss the last of the season's shelling peas.
Salvaterra's Gardens
If you are looking for ingredients to make this week's Summer Salad recipe, stop by Salvaterra's for just-harvested broccoli. Along with cauliflower, you'll also find lots of zucchini, Chiogga, red and golden beets and the fixins for great salads: spring mix, arugula, green leaf, red leaf or romaine. kale, chard, collard, escarole, cabbage,scallions, hakurei turnips, carrots, radishes and fennel too! And check out a variety of herbs to make the flavors burst in your summer dishes.
Scholl Orchards
It's cherry season and Jake's in the orchard picking sweet and tart cherries while Ben and the Scholl Orchard's crew is at EFM offering you the just-picked bounty. Nothing taste sweeter than a tart cherry pie! Stock up as bulk pricing is available on tart cherries. Apricots will be making their first appearance at the market so don't miss out on this early summer fruit. Apples, pears and plenty of summer veggies are also available.
Holy Cow Farm
Zinnias made their debut at Holy Cow's tent last week. They are a beautiful addition to an arrangement or even on their own. Holy Cow offers pre-arranged bouquets and custom arrangements with your favorite flowers! 
Backyard Growers
New items this week: annual Black-eyed Susan and perennial Bee Balm. Quantities will depend on how many bloom by Friday. Although the Black-eyed Susans are annuals, they seed themselves very well; so they may as well be thought of as perennials. Bee Balm (Monarda didyma) attracts pollinators and humming birds, but not deer. Bee Balm is in the mint family, and deer don't like plants in that family.
Pheasant Hill Farm / PorTch Tea
Pheasant Hill Farm will have flower sparklers this week to help you celebrate your 4th of July holiday., along with lots of the super long-lasting calla lilies. And bouquets featuring Asiatic lilies, snaps, hydrangeas, asclepia, sunflowers and so much more. For those who have been asking, the lovely lissies (lisianthus) are starting.
PorTch Tea will have some special offerings for your July 4th enjoyment. Little Lucia says, “We made some real good kombucha this week! Everybody should try some!” (Lucia is Don's 5 year old daughter and Melanie and George's granddaughter.)

Flour Shop Bakery
For those of you who were asking about Mary and the Flour Shop Bakery last week, well they've returned from vacation and will be at EFM offering their savory and sweet baked goods and freshly baked breads. Stop by to welcome them back and let them know how much they were missed!
Doughnut Love
Susan never wants to disappoint her customers so she is bringing back the very popular “Lavender Honey Tea” Doughnut! It’s an earl grey tea-infused doughnut topped with a lavender glaze, infused with earl grey tea & lavender honey!

She’ll also have her Lemon Drop doughnut, “Love for All” vegan Fruity Pebbles doughnut, and her signature doughnut cookies!

Primoridia Mushroom Farm | Valley Milkhouse
Last week Primordia brought their bumper crop of Lion's Mane to market and this week their still swimming in these tasty morsels! So they are keeping them on sale this week- $12 per lb. Come and get them!
A perfect starter for your 4th of July BBQ is Valley Milkhouse hand-crafted cheeses. Stop by for a taste of the different varieties of cheese they make at their creamery in Oley PA and choose your favorites! Stock up this Saturday as Steph will not be at the market next week.
Breakaway Farms
Stop by the Breakaway Farms stand for all of your favorite Grass Fed, Pastured, Clean Meats! This is their last week for the featured Black n’ Bleu Pork Grillers until May of 2020! Don’t miss out on this delicious blend of Pastured Pork, Sea Salt, Tellicherry Black Pepper, Sweet Vidalia Onions, and Amish Blue Cheese!!

Farmstand Recipes | Little Miss Korea
Chef Ada has certainly been busy as the Farmstand continues to roll out their delicious summertime salsas! This week Spicy Gallo makes its return to the Farmstand Recipes tent. The Spicy Gallo features simple, fresh ingredients that boast a whole lotta' flavor! Roasted Salsa Verde and Mango Tango will also be returning this week! Get your tortilla chips ready everyone, these salsas are a hit! As always, the Farmstand will also be offering their house-made signature salads -- the perfect side to any summertime dish.

Tolino Vineyards
Tolino' Vineyards is bringing some of their most popular wines to EFM on Saturday for you to taste and select your favorite. One of the featured wines is The050, a Sweet Niagara that is a tribute to Flicksville PA's 18050 zip code that was taken off the map for being too small. (Flicksville is the Tolino family's hometown.) Raise a glass of The050 and cheers to the little guy!
Teel Hills Soapworks

It's summer and to many that means vacation time. Whether your dream vacation takes you to the mountains or to the beach, Teel Hills' tropical soaps will make you feel relaxed as if you are already on vacation. Island Earth soap is a blend of lime and vetiver essential oils and has a swirl of sandlewood powder. Coconut Chamomile is a blend of nut oils, kukui, hazelnut, macadamia and virgin coconut oil scented with a little chamomile essential -- there is also a body/massage oil and a lip balm that matches the soap. You also may want to try a bar of Yin and Yang soap made with coconut milk and scented with lemongrass and cardamom spice. Ahh - it takes you away!!
