Hi Knitters,
My Summer Waves Shawl is really progressing. I'm using the Russian Join technique to go from one skein to the next. It's a smooth join so I have to mark the change spot with a safety pin or some other marker.
Russian Join is clever and easy to accomplish. Give it a try using our one page hint sheet.
The Simplicity yarn is proving to be soft and resilient. As my lap fills up with the finished knitting, I can feel the shawl taking shape.
I had planned for a 60" length. Then I backed that off to maybe 55" and now I'm thinking that I'll get through Skein #5 and make a decision about the length.
Simplicity is a DK weight that's 55% merino blended with acrylic and some nylon. Each skein is 117 yards so the knitting goes fast! Our price is $6 per skein, so this is a project that is economical and oh, so doable.
You can read about the pattern and my color choices in the "What's in Your Easter Basket?" email from Graywood Designs.
Order 6-7 skeins for the Summer Waves Shawl!
Happy knitting,
Wanda
