A Summer to "Cheat A Little"
|
|
Dear Friend,
The summer is upon us, and we have been experiencing some beautiful skies and great weather. It feels so good to be out and taking in the sun!
During the month of July, we take advantage of traditional get-togethers, especially with the good old American Barbecue. We also are looking at new ways to “get SOCIAL with PHYSICAL distancing.”
Last month we introduced “micro weddings” and other “micro events,” which continue … and our clients are booking now through September for all outdoor occasions.
We look forward to hearing from you so we can help to create new memories for your special celebrations.
Gratefully,
Brian Morriss
President & Owner

FULL-SERVICE
EVENTS
We’re working very closely with our clients on the design and space planning for all events held at residences and in private venues.
Establishing your "house rules of fun" on the invitations and as guests arrive, assure them of precautions made, mindful of guest count, and efforts to protect their safety.
Appropriate spacing and creative food plating and service has made guests feel comfortable to get-together and partake in the enjoyment.
Face masks and coverings have become sort of a fashion statement, so put your best on and offer a mask as guests arrive or invite them to bring their own and have a “best mask” contest!
This photo of our staff at a recent birthday party we catered puts a smile on my face. You may not see it, but they are all smiling too! We’re also minimizing the amount of staff required onsite at full-service events, while maintaining high-level service.
Don’t hesitate to reach out should you have upcoming catering needs. We’re happy to do a site visit and make recommendations to host your guests in a safe, enjoyable and memorable way.

MICRO
WEDDINGS
We would be honored if you secured Cheat A Little Catering for your unique and special wedding ceremony and mini-reception. These smaller scale weddings are intimate and cherished among your invited guests.
This beautiful outdoor ceremony shows how we get the creativity in motion for a stunning, rustic-vintage, and elegant setting. Specially chosen rentals of arch, sofas, chairs, décor, linens and china ware tie everything together for a dream wedding day!
We have three
Wedding Packages
to start formulating plans for the special day. We help with menu planning, as well as all the service aspects to bring a team of vendors together cohesively. As for the wedding meal, the trend is plated, sit-down dining service, but with our staff serving, clear shields, and other service components, buffet and food stations are also an option.

So many of July’s National Days celebrating food revolve around the great outdoors; including... Corn Fritters Day, Mac-n-Cheese Day, Ice Cream Day, Hot Dog Day and Chicken Wing Day.
As it’s grilling season, we feature a tasty outdoor grilling recipe!
Grilled Hot Wings
Ingredients
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 pounds whole chicken wings
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup hot sauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
Directions
1-In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper and garlic powder. In a large bowl, toss the wings with the salt mixture to evenly coat
2-Preheeat a gas grill to medium heat (about 350°)
3-Place the wings on the grill, crowding them together so they are touching, creating steam to stay moist. Grill, flipping the wings every 5 minutes, for a total of 20 minutes of cooking
4-Meanwhile, heat the butter, hot sauce, vinegar and honey in a saucepan over low heat and whisk to combine
5-In a clean large bowl, toss the wings with the sauce and put them back on the grill until the skins crisp, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Put wings back in the bowl with the sauce, toss, plate and serve
