Summer is officially here and we are embarking on our
Summer Sports Challenge!
Summer! The time of year when temperatures are warm, days are long, and everyone moves outdoors to be active - to challenge ourselves and to challenge others in friendly games of sport. But what if life has tossed in an extra challenge of living with a disability?
Our mission at Maine Adaptive is to work with participant athletes to leverage disabilities into opportunities to confidently take part in the summer activities of their choosing.
Maine Adaptive’s Summer Sports Challenge begins now!
We ask for your help with our challenge to sustain programming, purchase adaptive equipment, and allow us to grow our service to more people living with disabilities through adaptive sport and recreation. We assure you this is not just about having fun - although that is an important part - but is as much about building confidence through active sport and recreation to recognize there are no limits to whatever challenge one wants to tackle in life. Whether seeking to enjoy active recreation with friends and family, seeking a career in business, or setting sights on competing in the Paralympic Games, Maine Adaptive athletes have succeeded in each of these endeavors.
Please pledge your support and help promote our recreational programs throughout the summer as a part of our Summer Sports Challenge. You will not be disappointed. Even more special, this is Maine Adaptive’s 40th Anniversary year. Please help us continue the mission for the next 40 years beginning now!!
