TYNDALE NEWS & UPDATES

RECAP OF THIS SUMMER AT TYNDALE

JULY DAY CAMP

As the sun sets on another remarkable summer, the Tyndale Summer Day Camp can proudly reflect on its resounding success. With a team of passionate and amazing counselors leading the way, the camp became a beacon of joy for an average of 60 kids each week. The days were filled with boundless laughter and exploration as the children eagerly embraced the diverse array of outings to local parks, museums, and recreational spots. The sparkling highlight of every week was the swimming sessions, where the kids reveled in the refreshing waters, creating cherished memories with newfound friends. From captivating arts and crafts to fun tap dancing lessons, the campers enjoyed every moment of fun and learning.

AUGUST LITERACY CAMP

During the month of August, Tyndale's Literacy Camp offers a comprehensive 3-week summer program designed to enhance students' foundational phonics and reading abilities in both English and French.

The mornings are focused on academic pursuits, concentrating on skill development. In the afternoons, children engage in a variety of recreational activities, enjoying the outdoors or utilizing the gym facilities. Additionally, they have the opportunity to explore their creativity through arts and crafts, along with a daily session of story time.

The Tyndale Summer Day Camp & Literacy Camp were undoubtedly a place of growth, camaraderie, and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of both campers and counselors alike.

PARENT & CHILD SUMMER PLAYGROUP

Tyndale's Summer Parent & Child Playgroup invites parents and their young children, aged 6 months to 5 years, to partake in a delightful summer experience. This playgroup program offers a chance for families to connect, enjoy playful moments, and engage in a range of dynamic group activities.

Throughout the program, we embark on adventures to Montreal's parks, museums, beaches, and gardens, fostering a sense of exploration and connection with the city's attractions. Our days are filled with enjoyable activities such as picnics, along with the added excitement of a mobile library that enhances the joy of learning and reading together.

TYNDALE CHILDREN'S LIBRARY

Celebrating its 5th year, "Story Time in the Park" made a return! Every Monday and Wednesday, Tash and Candice, the summer librarians at Tyndale, arranged a cozy spot at Oscar Peterson Park. There, they shared captivating stories with all those who wished to join and listen. Furthermore, throughout the week from Monday to Friday, you could locate them at our Children's Library, engaging in various activities and interactions with the kids.

THE LITTLE BURGUNDY YOUTH COOPERATIVE

Tyndale's Youth Co-op Program celebrated yet another successful summer. The youth engaged in a diverse range of entrepreneurship workshops, activities, and projects. Under the guidance of three coordinators, they orchestrated a series of engaging events, including car washes, cooking workshops for children, movie nights, and bake sales. Alongside these, they also undertook contracts involving tasks such as assisting with the Tyndale Community Bazaar and preparing the back-to-school bulletin board.

Their summer journey culminated in a delightful Grill & Chill Cookout, fostering a sense of togetherness. Through the Youth Cooperative, students learned the value of collaboration while honing entrepreneurial skills and making positive contributions to their community.

Stay alert for upcoming information session dates for the year-round youth co-op program. Don't forget to keep tabs on their activities by following them on Instagram.

Community Bazaar

With great excitement, we announced the much-awaited return of the Bazaar this summer at the Centre, 870 Richmond Square, after a hiatus of 4 years.

Acknowledging the exceptional talents and untapped potential of our local small business owners, we curated a distinctive platform to exhibit their remarkable array of products and services. From meticulously crafted artisanal items to delectable culinary treats, the Bazaar catered to a diverse range of preferences.

The event also served as an occasion for our community to unite and make a significant difference. By throwing our support behind these small enterprises, we not only contributed to the economic advancement of our community but also nurtured a dynamic and all-encompassing atmosphere that championed diversity and entrepreneurship.
