News and Updates For You
Welcome to the monthly e-newsletter for NHTI alumni and community supporters. We want to keep you up-to-date on our academic programs, upcoming events, and let you know how you can support and stay in touch with us. Thank you for being part of NHTI - Concord's Community College.
NHTI Campus Update
I hope you are doing well and continuing to enjoy the summer weather. I am pleased to report that there continue to be no cases of coronavirus or suspected cases on campus. However, we are making plans for this Fall expecting that the virus will continue to makes its way across the country. The implementation of necessary safety protocols across campus that impact faculty, staff, and students are are how we plan to mitigate the spread of infection.

Despite all of these restrictions which may be discouraging to some, we will have the same excellence of academics that NHTI is known for. And, there will be student life- our athletes’ games will be livestreamed on Facebook and outdoor events can be viewed with social distancing. We will have weekly virtual events where students will have the opportunity to make friends and still have fun!

There have been questions related to rescheduling our commencement. This year, we provided a virtual commencement; with the pandemic’s unknown nature, we are unable to schedule an on-site celebration at this time.

On Monday, July 20th from 10-11am we will be holding an Open Public Forum for students and potential students, parents, and interested members of the community to provide opportunities to ask questions about NHTI and how we will look this Fall. Please join us by going to the Zoom link:   https://ccsnh.zoom.us/j/96062438491

Erica Smith (Dental Hygiene & Health Science/2020) , presented a TED-style talk at the ADHA Annual Session in June. This was to be an in-person event, but with COVID-19, a quick change to a virtual format was needed, a first for ADHA. Erica was one of 6 hygienists chosen nationwide to present, and the only student! The TED talks were just one of many educational sessions that were provided via virtual format, and Erica’s presentation was fantastic!   Watch the YouTube Video
New Scholarship Established by Student Organization
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is an international honor society for students attending two-year colleges. Alpha Upsilon Omicron is NHTI’s campus Chapter, which seeks to recognize and encourage scholarship among students, develop opportunities for leadership, fellowship, and service, as well as provide an intellectual climate for continued academic excellence.

As a way to leave a lasting legacy at NHTI, the 2019/2020 student members of PTK established a scholarship with an initial donation of $5,000. The first scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2020 semester.

PTK would like to raise at least double that amount and hope that you will be willing to donate today to help NHTI students reach their educational goals.

Classes will be offered online and on campus, depending upon the needs and requirements.

We are working with NH DHHS on the safety measures and protocols that need to be in place to ensure a safe environment for all and therefore, we have had to decrease course capacity. Register early to guarantee your space!
